How many ounces of water are you getting in per day?

I struggle w/ the water. I barely make the 40 oz per day my doc wants me at, and many times I barely make it to 30 oz. I like it, I don't have trouble keeping it in, I just forget about it or am too full. How much are you getting in?

Kelli JO, My doctor has us drinking 64 oz. a day....of course I am like you and drinking barely 30 oz. I have found that I like Minute Maid Lite lemonade. I do not like Crystal Lite as well. I can usually get close to 40oz if I drink the MM lemonade. I also found that everything has to be ice cold! Lots of ice cubes.......the colder the better. Before WLS I never liked anything cold......just tap water was fine. Now if I drink tap water it comes right back up! So far today I have had less than 24.....and have a lot to drink with very little time left! Just know that you are not alone! Sue

It is good not to be the only one in the bunch. I never liked anything real cold either, but as of today tried a bunch of ice and am liking it better. Also, I am using a bigger cup. I had bought 5 oz cups from the store, as they said try to do 4 oz per hour, but am actually having more success w/ the bigger cup. You still have me beat, I have only gotten in 21 ox of water today. I also have to get back on schedule, as now I stay up late and sleep late. I need to start getting up earlier and going to bed earlier as Wed I will go back to work.

HI, I never liked water, until I found Fruit 2 O. It comes in many different fruit flavors (I prefer grape and cherry) I also drink Dasani Lemon water. This helps because plain water is so boring. Keep one with you all day and sip, sip, sip! You can also count sugar free popsicles as fluid. Good luck! ~Robin

I love the strawberry fruit 20, I have not found grape or cherry here. I bet those are good. The other ones, raspberry, orange, and lemon, I have to pour out some and add regular water as they are too strong. Thanks. I will search for grape and cherry too.

I purchased a scale which measures your Weight Fat Ratio Water Ratio I'm always tired of folks talking about muscle gain when the scale doesn't decrease. My water ratio is 41-45% Not quite "acceptable" but okay with me. Strange as it sounds, the less water you drink, the more of it your body retains. If you are even slightly dehydrated your body will hang onto its water supplies with a vengeance, possibly causing the number on the scale to inch upward. The solution is to drink plenty of water.

I have a 34 oz insulated cup which keeps its contents cold for a very long time. When I used the smaller cups the ice would always melt making whatever I was drinking just plain gross. I bought sugar free lemonade. It is really tart, so I add a couple of sugar substitutes, but I have been able to drink 2 mugs a day totaling 68 oz if not sometimes more. Hope that helps a little.
