Painful
I am 4 weeks post op and have been blessed with not experiencing any constipation. BUT I am having excruciating pain from Hemmroids. I saw my wls Doc yesterday and he prescribed me some suppositories. It feels like a double edged sword. He said it could also be a Fiscer (sp?). I am getting some relief. I am going to make an appt. with my gastroenterolist on Monday. My WLS doc. sd I could get surgery it is outpatient. I want pain relief but am not really up to recovery from another surgery. Has anyone else experienced this and / or had to have the surgery. What was your experience like. This is a rather embaressing topic for me but I am so Happy I have you all to communicate with.
thanks

Hi Joni,
After my first son was born I ended up with a fischer also. I did have it taken care of surgically and didn't have to have general anesthesia, they gave me a spinal at that time, but I believe an epidural would work fine. As far as recovery, the next day it felt fine and no more pain. Fischers are so painful (excruciating). If they offer to fix it for you I'd go for it. Then make sure you take some kind of fiber so you don't get constipated. Good luck. Debra
I had a fissure a few years ago. I did not have surgical repair but I should have. Very warm sitz baths were the only thing that would give me relief and it took 4-6 months for it to heal. I suffered in silence and would not go to the doctor because he would only blame any ailment I had on my weight. I just couldn't hear it again at the time. Now I have a different doctor and would go instead of suffering. I took a stool softener daily and that also helped.
