I tried eatting brown rice last night and dumped for the first time. It was awful! I even cooked it until it was very soft but it did not help. I love rice and hope this will pass.

From everything I have read rice is not a good idea because it can still increase in size when it is in your pouch. Also, because the grains are so small I think it is really easy to eat too much of it. Sorry - dumping it HORRIBLE. I didn't have the problem for the first 3 weeks and now all of a sudden I was sick yesterday and today. Once for eating too much and the second I have no idea. I tried eating a banana and didn't even eat 3/4 of it before I started. It's the worst feeling! I told my husband that its like an electric dog collar. If this isn't behavior mod at its best I don't know what is! Good luck! Kate

I am not permitted to have rice yet, but I also heard to be careful when I do because of the swelling.. I am not sure what the dumping is, I havent been sick yet, but I did get very light headed and felt weak yesterday, is that a symptom?

Rice is one of those foods that we need to wait a little longer to try. It does expand in your pouch when you eat it too. What did you have with the rice, I don't think rice will make you dump, but maybe something in the sauce or something else you ate with it???? Lisa

Thanks to all *****sponded. I do appreciate it. I did not realize that rice would expand; duh.... but I do now. I am going to wait a long time before I have that again. lol As for what I had with the rice I had added a little chicken (something I had been eating just fine) and a small amount (1 tsp.) of Smart One butter. Oh well live and learn.
