Hi Julie, What does your nutritionist/doctor say about this? I had my roux en y on 6/23. The first 4-5 days were nothing but liquid. From the time I came home until 3 weeks I was put on soft protein diet -cottage cheese (low fat), yogurt (low fat), low fat cheeses, protein shakes twice a day, egg whites, eggs (3 per week), mashed tuna, fillet of sole, fat free sugar free pudding, pastina and chicken broth, round cheese ravioli, mashed beans, bean soups and last but not least..... PEANUT BUTTER!!!. Excellent source of protein. If you weren't given an guide prior to surgury contact your nutritionist or surgeon. I don't see why you can't have Peanut Butter at this juncture but every doctor has their reasons. Give them a hollar and Good Luck Nick

Julie I have just gotten off full liquids (two weeks out) and one of the things I can now eat are peanut butter and crackers. I usually have 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 5 saltine crackers. I love it!! You will be glad to know they are easy to chew to mush. lol Hope this helps but you still need to contact you doc about what you can and can not have. Good luck! Laural

After four weeks I was allowed peanut butter. But, my nutritionist said because of the fat content to limit it to about 2 times per week. She also told me that whole wheat saltines were the best choice to introduce first.

Just this week I tried a piece of wheat toast with peanut butter and bananna (sp). While the toast is still hot I add the peanut butter so it will melt into the bread then add the thin slices of banannas. I am starting to crave different foods and this was very satisfying to me. Teresa
