Is anyone having problems with eggs???
Hi Christy,
I'm seven weeks out and I tried scrambled eggs around two weeks and did fine with them one day...then I tried them the next day and was miserable for the rest of the day.
I tried them again this past weekend, but this time in a quiche...I did fine with them on Sunday.....but then on Monday I tried leftovers and felt sick for the rest of the day. Eggs are apparently just one of those things that many have problems with. My nutritionist said it could be as long as four months before our pouches can handle them...meanwhile, some people do fine with them. Who knows....
Refried beans are good...I put a little sour cream on top...sometimes I add a dash of chili sauce. Also, Ricotta cheese with a little spagetti sauce on top is good...and you can sprinkle a little mozzerella or parmesan on top. I saw on the main message board another person eats ricotta with a tsp of sugar free jelly on top (I bought the stuff, but haven't tried it yet). Taco Bell's pinto's and cheese are awesome!
Other people really like tuna salad and chicken salad...but I wasn't real thrilled with it.
I also like cream of wheat w/ cinnamon & splenda because there are so many vitamins in it...but I eat half as much as I'm allowed to because it tends to swell in the tummy.
That's all I can think of right now....
((hugs))

YES! I cannot tolerate eggs at all. I cooked them in every imaginable way... scrambled, poached, fried, hardboiled, etc. with seasonings, without etc... my body doesn't like them right now, so I'll try again in a month or so. Also, my eggs don't taste very good either. I kind of get a coppery metallic taste in my mouth and the texture is strange- probably because I chew it a million times. This is most of my protein: 40 grams of my 60 required grams of protein per day is in the form of an Unjury protein shake (2 scoops) with 16 oz. of milk --- actually, the milk would make it more than 40 grams... problably up to 50 grams in the one shake... It takes quite a few hours for me to get the whole shake down, but that is (my nutritionists) only way to get what we need in... the dreaded protein shake. *see Unjury.com to order the high-quality 20 grams per scoop protein. It's the best I've tasted so far! Not too sweet and very little to no aftertaste.
