New stage in diet???

I am about to move from full liquids to modified solids. I am so tired of jello, strained soups, yogurt, etc. My question is would I be able to start modified solids a day early?? I want something to chew so...bad.

I started pured on 7-11 I have had avacado, cottage cheese,Pureed chicken. My friend made me some Peanut butter protien balls that are really good. What I am discovering is that I get full so fast I am really trying to always eat protein first. I have also had pureed banana, frozen blueberry, peachs. Jon RNY 6-27-2005

Hey Laurel! I started the pureed stage a week ago today and have only been able to puree things a couple of times so my jaws have really been getting a workout. I did puree cottage cheese and pineapple and it almost tasted like pineapple cool whip. It was good. It has been hard to figure out something to eat that has flavor to it and isn't too dry so that you can wait to drink for 1/2 - 1 hour afterwards. I have also had scrambled egg made with skim milk. When that wasn't enough flavor or moistness, I put in a couple of pieces of canned chicken breast and some of that broth, so it was easier to go down. Next time, I will try it with a little soy sauce like a chicken stir fry taste, I hope. I had some mashed potatoes that were good and filling too. I must say that while I was out of town I got to go to Chick-Fil-A and got a child's size diet lemonade (with Nutrasweet). It REALLY doesn't taste like diet. That's why I love it so much. I also had 2 "grape tomato" sized chicken nuggets that are cooked in peanut oil and have hardly any breading on them at all. I took 1 1/2 hours to eat these 2 pieces - I chewed them back to their egg days, I think, but they were not a problem at all and I then waited another half hour to drink my lemonade. It was wonderful. I have made sure to drink 4-5 ounces of my Atkins Advantage Protein Drink every day too. Good luck Laurel and tell me if you find any better ideas! Hugs, Cindy Lou Who
