I am having the same problem and finally bought some protein powder at GNC. It is 25 grams per scoop. I put it in my SF pudding. It has helped a lot.

I can't say enough good things about Isopure protein shakes. I use Isopure Dutch Chocolate low carb. 200 calories per serving 50 grams of protein per serving I make up a shake with water and ice in the morning. I take it to work and drink half for breakfast, then save the other half for after lunch pick-me-up snack. Good luck!

There are some good post in the library under vitimin and minerals. I also sometimes go and read some of the post from people that are at least 6 months out like December 2004 and get some good feebback about protein. There is 1 absolute consistancy and that is make sure protein is a priority in all you eat and drink. I read an article where one of the ladies uses a container that is used for powdered baby formula and puts her tastless protein whey powder in there. It has 3 compartments. She puts it in the drinks and food Joni

from gnc, i get the chocolate amplify..it's made by release. it is really good. each protein drink has 20 grams of protein. and you only use 6 oz. of water. the 2 lb. container almost last for 3 weeks (that's having 3 drinks a day) and the cost is $40. it also comes in vanilla, strawberry and cookies and cream. I tried alot of protein drinks and this one is my favorite. good luck, Dawn

I HIGHLY recommend the Nectar line of proteins from Syntrax. It's like having a fruit smoothie. Not creamy or chalky like other types of protein. My favorie flavor is Fuzzy Navel, but they also have Roadside Lemonade, Ice Tea, Berrry Berry, Carribian Cooler, Crystal Sky and others. Each scoop is 0 carbs, 0 fat, and 23g protein. I use one and a half scoops with about 1/2 water and 1/2 crushed ice. I blend it in my Magic Bullet( regualr blender would work as well) and it is a delcious fruit smoothie. For chocolate cravings I reccommend Champion Whey Stack chocolate. Tastes like a Wendy's Frosty when made with the water and ice. the surgeons and nutritionists still suggesting the Carnation are in the dark ages and need some updated training. The 2 brands I suggested and many more are available from bethsproteinboutique.com and vitalady.com. They both will send samples for you to try. Good luck!

I am 4 weeks out and the only one that I have found that I can stomach is Unjury plain unflavored mixed in juice or Minute maid sugar free fruit punch. I use 5-6 oz. and mix a half of package of the unflavored Unjury in the 5-6 0z. and sip this as I sip my water. I do it twice a day for 20 grams of protein. It tastes kind of like a frothy punch this way. It is not great, but it is very tolerable Another thing is, after 4 weeks my doctor allows soft foods to be introduced very slowly (only 1 or 2 new foods per day.) It seems to give me a bit more of an appetite which has improved my protein consumption. I reached 52 grams today for the first time since my surgery. I know that everyone is different, but I am supposed to be getting 60-70 grams per day. There is just no way I have been able to do that. I have tried several protein powders from GNC and could not stand any of them. Unjury is available online. My nutritionist gave me samples and that is how I was able to try it. Hope this helps. Sincerely, LMW

I absolutely swear by Unjury chocolate. I have tried several kinds of protein drinks. But this is the only one I actually like. My doctor advised me that my body can only absorb about 25 grams of protein at a time. This drink has 23. I mix it with skim milk. Best I've had. Was very relieved when I found it. Good luck!

I am 17 days post op and am (almost) enjoying the Designer Protein shakes from the Vitamin Shoppe. I am using Chocolate Peanut Caramel and Vanilla. I mix them with 8 ounces of Skim Plus milk for 29 ounces of protein 3x a day. I also have beef broth. Hope this helps. My blood sugar is WAY down and so is my blood pressure. I am a happer camper.
