need advice from post ops who have experienced this

Did anyone experience Insomnia in the first weeks after their surgery and eventually get back on track with your sleeping? or did you continue to have a terrible time getting and staying asleep. I am having such a difficult time. I am wondering if this is temporary or permanant for me. Does it get better. I feel like a zombie! Please let me know. Sincerely, LMW

YES i had insominia at first but i found once i came off the pain meds that fixed itself. IT was most probably due to the pain medication. EVERY night got better but i want about 6 days with not much sleep at all. HOPE IT HELPS!

Yes, I did have insomnia for the first few weeks but I think that was due to the fact I was taking naps during the day and wasn't tired when it was time for bed. Now that I am back to work and on a schedule, the insomnia has passed. Shelley

I had insomnia about a week after surgery. I stopped the pain meds after 2 days home (hate the way they made me feel) so maybe that was it?? I am sleeping well now. Good luck to you! Jo
