Hey Everyone, Thought I would give you a update. I decided to meassure myself today just for the heck of it since it has been 5 weeks and wow was I shocked since I have lost a total of 26.5 inches off of my body...wahoo did that ever make me happy. I also decided to go shopping today for food. SInce I am now on a all protein diet I went and bought some bags of premade meatballs and at aldies they were only about 1.69 a bag for 26-30 meat balls i think thats a very good deal and they have two different flavors. I also bought some port roast and meat loaf homemade dinners figured this will save time on me and they are smaller. I will have alot of left overs but less then if i made it....hehe. I also found cubed turkey breasts and picked up deli sliced turkey breasts. If anyone has any other ideas about proteins let me know. Im gonna start drinking a protein drink a day since I now can drink milk....Hope all are doing well today. Jess

Congratulations on the inches down. SOUNDS like you made some bargain finds for your high protein eating. I love to buy the frozen GORTONS fish fillets for a quick microwave dinner loaded with good proteing and no carbs. I also love to eat cottage cheese ( i buy small 4 ounce containers of lo fat, just the right size). I eat the carb countdown yogurts and chocolate milk for snacks loaded with protein as well. Otherwise i eat most things my family does I just dont eat potatoes and bread and watch the sugars in the sauces or marinades. GOOD LUCK your off to a fabulous start. MY inches gage has been how far my stomach is from the steering wheel. IN FEBRUARY when i first went to my surgeon my BELLY touched the steering wheel in my van and now my goodness there is a nice size gap there already. SO that really motivates me so much! GOOD LUCK, LISA

Thank you Lisa Yeah I always try to save a buck if i can especially when it comes to food especially now that i cant eat much and live alone. I may have to look into the GORTONS fish fillets. Oh yeah its always nice to small containers of things then you dont have to messure or feel like your waisting food. My dr has me on a all protein diet as of right now but soon i get to add a little fruits and veggies to my meal and I cant wait. I really wasnt a big meat eatter before surgery. I was big into carbs but I honestly dont miss those i think i miss fruits and veggies more then I miss Carbs. That is a good way to look at things with the steering wheel. Now that you mention it i think i may be a little farther away from the steering wheel now to...hmmmm the things you dont think of every day. Maybe its because i dont drive as much as i used to but starting monday back to work and i will be in the car every day now. Good luck to you also Jess

Jess, Wow...26.5 inches is AWESOME! Congratulations!!! I was measured about a month before wls at Curves....but I haven't been back yet to get remeasured....so I'm clueless. Aldies.... man I miss that store. We use to live in Illinois and go shopping there. There aren't any around here in Maryland. They always have the best deals. Just a suggestion on eating the meats....make sure it is moist and not dry. I have done really well with moist meats. When I was out of town, I was in a situation where my only option was these dry (baked) chicken tenderloins. I cut it into itty bitty pieces and chewed like crazy...but it was just so dry that it was hard to swallow and then it felt like a piece blocked my outlet for a while. I won't do that one again. You know...I like those boil baggies with salisbury steaks and sliced turkey...they are nice and moist....real easy to chew. I love the carb countdown chocolate milk. Stallone protein pudding. Refried beans. Vienna sausages are easy to chew and swallow...but HIGH in sodium. Chicken salad. Oh, and I like to make this: Frozen Chicken tenderloins 1-2 cans of tomatoes with Basil, Oregano, Garlic Put chicken in baking dish, cover with canned tomatoes (yes, even the juices) Cover tightly with foil Bake at 375 for about 40 minutes (or until chicken is cooked through) The REASON why I like to make this is that the chicken is sooooooooooo tender and juicy....it just falls apart...melts in your mouth. Right now, I don't eat the tomatoes....my family does.. But it is the tomatoes/juice that make it so tender. It stores well in the fridge too... Best of luck to you! Let us know if you find something yummy and high in protein!! Pam
