Hey All If you like to cook - than you will puree anything! I was very afraid about pureeing but so far so good! I puree everything. Chop meat, sausage patty and vegetables. I was worried I wasn't going to get in my vegetables and i spoke to a few people. The suggested mushrooms, roasted peppers, eggplant, summer squash, cauliflower (taste lake mashed potatoes) , and aspargus. I used the blender my first week but it was too big so I bought a mini chopper and that works wonders for me! Im on 3 oz for b - l - d; 2 oz protein & 1 oz veg. 4 0z snack am / pm usually a dairy to get the calcium intake. This is my 3rd week on mushy foods - i go to solid foods on my 5th week when im on vacation in florida so we'll see how that goes! Don't get discouraged - just keep trying! Im only down 15lbs and im sure it's going to get slower and slower but Im going to keep trying. This website totally helped me out because I just thought I was the only one thinking about food or being hungry or not being hungry - I really am learning alot! Take Care - and be strong! Gina

your ideas are so good. I have been pureeing for 4 weeks on Thursday and I had not thought of many of these. My surgery was June 14th. Anyway, don't forget about cottage cheese for protein. I hate cottage cheese plain, but someone shared mixing 24 ounces of Cottage Cheese, one box sugar free jello (your favorite flavor), 1/4 cup cool whip free, and 1 small can crushed pineapple. Mix this until pureed in the blender and it is actually good (at least to me), and a great protein amount. I think 6.5 grams for 2 ounces. My doctor and nutritionist want me to get in 5 very small meals of 4 ounces each. So far, I can only eat three and sometimes one of those is liquid like Atkins shake 6-8 ounces. I am supposed to work up to 60-70 grams of protein. The only protein drinks I can stomach are Atkins shakes over ice sipped very very slowly and counted as a meal, and Unjury (available online only) mixed in Crystal Light or sugar free koolaid. For me, mashed pot. mixed with one percent milk, melted cheese, and a little non-fat powdered dry milk have been a life saver. Thanks for the great ideas. Sincerely, LMW
