I made it to the other side!!!
Well I made it home a few days ago and everything with fine. I did get awfully sick from the stuff I had to drink for the upper G-I. Yuck!! It made me very dizzy; it was awful. I still get a little dizzy when I first lay down but it is getting better. Did this happen to anyone else???
Before I left the hospital I asked to weigh my self and to my surprise I had gain back the last 5 lbs I had lost!! The nurses said it was because of all the fluids they had been putting into me and that I would lose it. It took me two days but I have finally send those ugly 5 lbs disappear. Now I want the other 150 pounds to disappear which I know will happen over time.
I am keeping track of everything I eat and drink which isn't much. I have started using Fitday to keep track of everything along with a personal journal so I can remember things when I go to the doctor on the 18th. My mine just doesn't work like it use to; must be the age. lol
I even get to Wal Mart for a few months. Boy was that a mistake! I had to take a nap because I was worn out. Hope I can make it through the fourth celebration. Everyone have a wonderful fourth; I will be smelling everything this fourth.
Congrats Laural!
I also gained weight while I was in the hospital (2 lbs) but it quickly melted away. I understand the tiredness too but I felt MUCH better today. I too did a Wal-Mart trip to try and "normalize" myself and was exhausted when I got home.
Good luck, have a great fourth, and welcome to the loosing side!

Laural, Yay ur a loser !
I just had my surgery as well, and just got home from the hosptial on July 2, 2005. I feel tired too, but i keep telling myself that i won't feel as bad tomorrow as i did today, casue every day get easier so that helps me.
The nurse told me that everyone gains a little when they are weighed in the hosptial, for the say reasons others mentioned.. the fluids that they are giving u and the bloating dont help im sure..
My surgeon did the leak test with a scope when i was till alseep so i didnt have to drink anything thank godness... but i sure did have a sore throat for a few days.
Your doing great Laural.. Keep up the good work......
Happy Fourth Everyone !
You're lucky! I needed five units of blood transfused while in the hospital in addition to a ton of IV fluids. When I asked to weigh myself after 4 days because I felt so "HEAVY" I had gained 25 pounds. I almost passed out! It took me over a week on diuretics to get that all off! Congrats on getting it off and keep up the good recordkeeping!

You made it! YOu WENT WHERE?!?! I can't even think about walking to my car right now, let alone going to Wal-Mart! Did you ride in one of those little scooters? I might consider going if I had one of those. My walking escapades are frequent trips to the bathroom and from this computer desk to my living room and back. My puppy is too interested in my drain bag though, so I don't go in the living room as much as I should. Take care and congrats "Sister Loser"!

Awe Cindy,
It will get better... I did go to the store when i got home from the hospital too, i went with my mom and my daughter to buy fireworks, and to the pet store... but then again I dont have a drain either. Did you have open? When do you get to have your drain taken out.
Good luck to ya.. your gonna do just fine, and every day will get better then the day before....
Keep going, you will get past it, and shopping like u never have before.. for all new CLOTHES!
Lori.
Cindy you will get there. I must be one of the lucky ones. No I did not use one of those little scooters but let me tell you I did hold onto the basket while walking through the store and going to the car. That's why I took TWO naps that afternoon. Today I even with to a BBQ at our community club in the country. I did stay inside where it was cool because the heat index was 105!! I kept telling myself next year I would be able to eat all these lovely dishes. OH.....but the BBQ Chicken smelt wonderful!!!
I was also lucky I did not have to have a drain bag. I do feel for you with that thing. Hope you had a wonderful 4th. Things will get better; just hang in there.
