Well i just returned from my one month post op appointment. According to the doctors scale i am down 28 lbs since surgery on the 1st of june and bringing my grand total to 54 lbs since i first saw him. THEY did think this was alot of weight to be down but i told them i do eat, i do get all my protein but i am not getting excerise yet. I told him i do fine with all foods, i am not nausua and how good i feel already falling into new sizes. HE did suggest to me to go on a med if i wanted to help avoid GALL STONEs being i didnt have my gall bladder out with the surgery. SO i may go on this it brings my risk in having this problem down to about 5 percent. I am now moving up the foods which is really eat anything. I go back in 2 months, and get my blood work done just before i go in to see him. THAT will be 3 months post op. SO everything went well, i just so much love my surgeon and his office staff. ITS like family. SO thats my visit. I am now on regualr foods chew chew chewing now and feeling great. FOR some reason i have the runs this afternoon...went at the docs office, had to stop on the way home and went again when i got home. I am not sure what triggered this. I did have a STATE inspection maybe nerves...well i will take that back my son 8 just tossed his cookies in the bathroom i guess we have a stomach viru****ting. Perhaps thats why im with the bathroom trots. Well who knows.... ANYWAY! THATs my one month post op. LISA

MARYJO....guess what...hubby wanted chinese tonight so i kept seeing your post flash before my eyes so i have a drop of white rice...and some chicken from the szechuan chicken, and ate two broccoli tops off. I am full and feel good and ate such a small amount compared to the old me. BEFORE i would have had some soup, an eggroll, lo mein and the chicken dish over rice....amazing the change. SO what you eating. I must admit MARYJO i have eaten ground beef and im fine with it. WHEN my family had tacos i had some ground beef with some lo fat sourcream and cheese on top. I also nibbled a bit of home made grilled hambrugers...the very lean ground beef is what i use...and im fine. I am on regular foods now. JUST not sure about salad i may phone the nutritionist tomorrow to find out on that a bit. MAHOGONY....30 lbs for your first month is fabulous. MY doctors assistant who weighs me was shocked at how much I lost in one month. MOST do not loose that much according to her. BUT i am happy cause my pre op and post op weight brings me to 54 lbs...! GOOD LUCK thanks for the replies...

Lisa, Congrats on the 28 pounds and the total of 54 pounds!! You are doing awesome! I hope you're not coming down with a bug. That would really bite and I hope your son feels better too. You guys are KILLING me with the CHINESE!!!! I always got an egg roll, vegetable lo mein, shrimp fried rice and topped it with pieces of General Tso's chicken. My great big dinner plate was a mountain of overflowing food. Today, I had two chicken nuggets for dinner and was full. HA! Who woulda ever thunk that!?! My one month appt WAS going to be the 5th...but since I have to go out of town, they moved it to the 19TH!!!!!! Augh.... I HATE that I have to wait that long. Lisa's kickin' butt Pam

Lisa, congrats on your progress and your 1 month anniversary. Your posts always inspire me and I'm sure others....you too Mary Jo. I don't write often, but believe me I read it all!! I am 31/2 weeks post op and also am doing great. My 1 month visit is next thursday. I don't weigh too often as I get obsessed but as of last week, I had lost 24.5 since surg. and 37 overall. I have a long way to go. I started out at 350!! I'm still in shock about that but now I feel ope and know that it only gets better from here. I feel so fortunate to have had no complications. I can pretty much eat anything that has been suggested I try. Lisa, your recipe for ricotta cheese and low fat moz. cheese with a tad of sphegetti ( sp?)sauce is a favorite of mine. I bring it to work everyday now for lunch. I also throw a little feta cheese in there. Regular protien drinks made me have pretty bad loose stools initially so I drink soy shakes and they agree with me well. I love the taste. I need to up my walking. I never have enjoyed walking. I need to change my thinking and start making healthy choices regarding that. Anyways...I have babbled long enough. Thanks to everyone for sharing here. I don't have a PC at home, but I can't wait to get to work early to check out the June board and spend my lunch doing the same. Continued success to all of us. Love, Diane P.S. Kathy I am so happy that you are ok!!!

HI DIANE! great to see your feeling so well and posting!!!!!!!!!!!! Your doing wonderful tooo...this is so wonderful to hear so many of us getting thru surgery with no complications. AND those that are having some minor things your in our prayers. I am so glad you like that mozzerella/ricotta cheese thing i make. I love it to i feel like its a cheat. ITALIAN foods are my favorite so for me its a needed fix. I too started my journey at a high weight 310, but my surgeon required me to loose 25 lbs for surgery which i did loose so it brings my number up to 54 lbs. GLAD your doing well and i hope to see alot more posts on the boards from you. HUGS n kISSES to everyone! LISA
