WHAT'S COOKIN GOOD LOOKIN?
well, there is a post on the main board about what you have eaten for the day. i thought maybe we could do something like that on our june board, but maybe just dinner. i always have a difficult time coming up with dinner ideas, so i thought we could get ideas from each other!
dinner for me tonight...i have no idea! my timing is all off, i always feel "full" and i cannot get in 5 meals a day! i am lucky to get 4 and one of those is my protein drink, which i just finished about 20 min ago. thinking maybe a few bites of chicken and 1/4 c cottage cheese?
anyone else?
based on responses, i will try to do this every night, if you guys would like!
hugs~mary jo
Hey Mary, that's a great idea! I need all the ideas I can get too.
Today was my first day back in the office, so I didn't do all that great. It was a "blah" food day.
B - 1 Tablespoon dry cream of wheat mixed with water with a little splenda and cinnamon
L - Stallone Vanilla protein pudding
D - 3 tablespoons refried beans with a dot of chili sauce and a tsp of sour cream
That's it. And so far, 60 oz water/crystal light and one cup of caff free orange flavored hot tea.
I hope everyone responds to this!!
Pam
Well, I like the chocolate stallone pudding the best. That one just tastes like regular choc pudding. I had the vanilla one today. The first bite was good, but then it got yucky.
No one was expecting me to show up at work today, I just thought I would give a try. Normally, I'm at the office by 6:30 a.m. but I didn't make it there until 8:30. I guess I'm moving slower now. Hopefully, I can get it together by Monday! I did okay while there though. I just got caught up in my routine and the day blew by. It was a little awkward at lunchtime, everyone was running out to get subs and such. BUT on a positive note, I watched someone eat a footlong sub, a bag of chips and a soda and thought "whoa! That's waaay too much food!" I actually didn't want anything to do with it. That was cool. By the end of the day, I couldn't wait to get home. I was wiped out!
Another cool thing was people were coming up to me and saying "Wow, your face is thinner!" I'm not sure if that is true or not...maybe I've just been gone long enough that they don't remember me accurately!!
How are you feeling these days?
Pam
i am not excited to go back to work on the 29th. lol i am a little discouraged about my weight loss, 18 lbs so far. but i just keep doing what i am told! i have heard from about 5 people that my face looks thinner. just people i have run into at the store and such. i saw a friend of mine at walmart sunday and she says "look at you skinny minny!". that made me smile, she said she could really tell...and didn't know i had the surgery.
i feel pretty good though, just wish the weight would start coming off!
Well i get hungry i must admit this was my day of eating yesterday:
breakfast: carbcountdown yogurt
AM SNACK: SF vanilla PUDDING
LUNCH: 4 oucnces of my home made chicken salad (chopped finely in a small black and decker chopper: celery, chicken, hardboiled egg and lo fat mayo)
PM SNACK: carb countdown chocolate milk (6 ounces)
DINNER: had my chicken salad again for dinner because i like it so much
SIPPED THRU THE DAY: sf kook aide cherry flavor, water and propel
wow lisa, you did so good! your chicken salad sounds pretty yummy! so how many grams of protein you getting in that 4 oz? sounds like a good protein source too!
i love the carb countdown chocolate milk! i usually do that for snacks too, or when i need more protein. going to venture out and buy some of the regular milk too. have you had it?
well i have some leftover diced chicken, i think i may boil a couple eggs and try out your chicken salad for lunch today! well minus the celery, because i can't have raw veggies yet. thanks for the idea!
well im not fully counting my proteins im just makeing sure each meal has at least 4 ounces of protein....
THE regular carb countdown is good i use it in scrambled eggs, or with the carnation instant breakfast. I been eating alot of the chicken salad this week as i made a big batch for a few days. Just make sure u finel chop the chicken and the celery. I used this inexpensive chopper i got in walmart...by black and decker and it made the pieces so nice for me to eat. I worry big time i wont chew enough.
A way u can count all the ingredients for the chicken salad is in fitday.com i used to put in the chicken piece, the lo fat mayo and the egg and celery all separate and come up with the total but i dont recall it now...its a great site and free to see how u do in a day with carbs, calories and proteins. I really should start useing it again i did it with atkins pre op.
LISA!
PS: tell me if u like the chicken salad...later on i plan to have some on a pork rind when i am eating more solid type foods!
