Hi everybody. Just signed up this evening. Had my lapband done on June 13th. So far I'm eating a protien shake during the day, 2 oz. every hour. In between I am drinking water. My concern is that I can drink more than 2 oz. at a time. I don't want to stretch my pouch. I think the shake and water are running right through. What do ya'll think? Thanks for any responces. I am not lap band but wanted to wish you congratluations on your surgery. MY advice is to do what your surgeon suggests. IF you think its running right through maybe talk to the surgeon. I am certain after your fills it will be much different for you. LISA

Congrats on your surgery. Sometimes liquids run right through us but I would keep doing what your dr says you should do. If you are concerned maybe call your dr and ask him if your feeling is normal. Jess

Hi Rich, i concur with Lisa, but I suspect you are eating too little. My doc has me on 2 protein shakes a day no restriction as to time. I also get to enjoy sugarfree jello, popsicles, and a small amount of fruit juice, sf yogurt and/or sf pudding every day. i'm taking in 600-850 calories a day. Calories is not what you need to work at though, drinking plenty of fluids is. I would think you could drink the shakes faster, I know that protein shakes lost their nutrients after about 2 hours. I drink mine in about an hour. With my nutritionist's blessing I'm also adding the Unjury powder to Crystal light to make sure I'm getting in 60-80g protein a day. I drink that fairly quickly, but in sips. Check with your doc but i would definitely have FIERCE hunger pangs on 1 protein shake a day. The protein is vital to your healing and does help you feel more satisfied. Yours in pounds down, Jen 425/399/minigoal 383

Hi Jen, Thanks for posting. I am acually having two shake per day. I drink 2 ounces every hour from the time I get up in the morning until the time I hit the bed, with plenty of water in between. I didn't realize that the protien shake was only good for two hours! I'll need to do something different. Maybe I could take my time with a shake in the morning and then another one when I get home from work around 6PM. I really haven't felt hungry during the day, but I will have to see what happens when I switch to jus****er all day long. Hang in there. Rich
