Sendin em Packing!!!
Ok Junies.
I'm getting ready for my surgery June 14. I have taken care of everything else but am drawing a blank as to what to pack for the hospital!!! I'll be there overnight. Any ideas?
Here's what I have so far...
1. Nightgown
2. Robe
3. Flip flops (I HATE slippers)
4. Undies
5. Case for glasses
6. Deodrant
7. Body spray (a girl just has to smell nice)
8. a mumuu to wear on the way home
9/ Lip balm (I remember that suggestion)
Pillow for the car!
Any other suggestions???
Yours in pounds down,
Jen!!!
hi jen! are you there for only one night? i did not feel like even moving, let alone changing into a nightgown! i used another hospital gown for a "robe" when i went walking.
toothbrush? maybe a little trial size toothpaste? (i hate hospital toothpaste!) my mom brought me crossword puzzle books, but didn't really pick those up lol.
lots of luck to ya!!!!!
hugs~mary jo
I took shower to shower and some hand sanitizer. They dont like you using perfume it can bother other patients and YOU may not even want the strong smells after surgery. I took my own pillow and some magazines too. I brought lotion too. Your skin feels dry when you are on pain meds and stuff.

They told me no flip flops because they are hard to walk in and I need something that will not slip so easy for the required walking down the hospital hallways after surgery.
I'm slowly getting my stuff together for my surgery that will happen first thing in the morning. I'm pretty much going very light because I don't think I will want to load much stuff there, have someone carry it around for me, and then finally get it to my room where I will be so drugged up that I will not know the difference.
I've got a new pair of house shoes (enclosed on the foot, not the sandle type), my nice gown, a house coat, I guess - -toothbrush, toothpaste, d.o., unscented female body spray (the doctor said to stay away from scented soaps, shampoo's etc. - -to try to be as scent free as I can), my hair brush, floss for my teeth....they said to wear clothes that are loose and that you can wear both to the hospital and back home from the hospital...........I'll leave my purse, money, rings, make-up, hair dryer, and all that type of stuff at home. I plan to let my husband or mother or someone staying at the hospital with me keep up with my cell phone (and cell phone charger) in case anyone tries to call it to get updates on me. I will leave my contacts at home and take my glasses (and eye glass case).
My son has found a bag for me to use - - so know I need to get everything that has to go with me...and put it in there.
Best wishes on your surgery and please think about me tomorrow when I am in mine.
