Freaking out..
Hi all -
My surgery is Monday, June 13 and needless to say my nerves have decided to dance. This week has been hard on me because I had two deaths in the family, plus all the nerves and jitters from the upcoming surgery.
I live in IN now but grew up in MI, that is where all my family is. I had to make an unexpected trip back home to be with my family during this time of mourning. It helped me a little but it also made me sad because they cannot be here with me while I am having the surgery.
My mom will be coming down the day before and staying about a week or so after I get home, but its not the same. Then again, my sisters would probably get on my nerves (you know how sisters are) if they were to come while I was still in that recovery mode, maybe its a blessing in disguise?
I know that I am ready for this, I am so ready to start my life over. However the timing has just sucked big time lately.
Why can't it be Monday already?
Hi Jen!
My surgery is also the 13th. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your relatives. That's never an easy time. I had a crazy week also. I ruptured the ligament on the bottom of my foot..the one that runs from the heel to the toes.. I am walking around in a big black removable cast that makes me look like Herman Munster on Steroids. As if I wasn't clumsy enough. On top of that, my 4 1/2 year old came down with something called Fifth disease, so my 19 year old son can't drive me around because he has to stay home with her. Now, I would like you to imagine me, sitting in the car with my right (casted) leg all the way over to the right, and driving with my left foot. I'll tell ya, I think this is God's way of keeping our minds off of the surgery!
Please feel free to keep in touch over the next months. It would be great to know your progress and to share mine. What are you bringing to the hospital? I am having RNY laparoscopic surgery. Ok, talk to you soon I hope. Say a prayer for peace! Inside and out. Get some rest and think positive thoughts!
Best wishes!
Rossana
HEY JENN!!!!! I can fully understand all your going to.
I lost my dad 2 weeks prior to my surgery and the stress
put my blood pressure and NO surgery levels. I quickly
saw my doctor and got some meds to calm me till surgey.
I was successful and had my surgery JUNE 1......stay calm
and dont make your blood pressure go crazy. YOU will do fine.
I had noone to help after surgery but my hubby home a few
days and managed fine. Recovery is quick if u have lap surgery.
