I HAVE A DATE

Well it has been what seems like such a long road, but I know I have read other's profiles that have waited years so I'm happy for the small about of time I did have to work on this. My surgery is June 22 at Barix Clinics in Langhorne, PA. I can't believe it's finally here! I was first denied then appealed and won. Then was informed that the hospital was in network, but the drs were not. So know I have a $5000 deductible that becomes an issue. Also my insurance company will not pay the dr directly, they will only send the checks to me. They'll pay the clinic, but not the dr. Barix has a policy not to accept insurance that won't do assignment of benefits, but they are willing to ignore this for me. My loving husband thinks it's because I have been professional and curteous to everyone there even if I didn't like the answers I would get. I would like to think this is true. So they will only ask that I immediately send the checks to them when they come and are asking me to pay $1000 up front towards my deductible. I had to got to family and a friend, but I did it. It's the quickest I've ever raised so much cash, but ofcourse it's not like I asked for $$ to go on vacation. It's my health. So here we are and I can't wait to get started with my new life!! That's great news. Congratulations, mine date is the 21st, so I will be thinking of you and our "family" as we prepare to do this. And congrats on your victory over the insurance company. Unfortunately, I wasn't so successful on that front, but I'm glad to pay out of pocket. I think the end will justify the means. Good luck to you!
