Rescheduled from June 10 to June 18 for surgery!

What a day -- here goes! I had a phone call from my surgeon's office at 10:30 AM informing me that I missed a pre-op appointment with my surgeon yesterday. Well, that's because they scheduled me and failed to tell me anything about it! I made that point but decided not to be too nasty about it since I'll be seeing a lot of these people in the next few weeks! Then I sat on pins and needles for 2 hours while the office decided whether I could see the dr tomorrow or not until Tuesday. As it turns out, the dr won't be in tomorrow so I'll have to wait to see him until Tuesday morning which moves my surgery to Saturday, June 18, at 9 AM. I got my CBC order from my primary dr and drove up to Norton to have the bloodwork -- my wbc count is down to 12.8 from 14.9 and 16.1 but not quite to the 10-11 it needs to be. Perhaps putting the surgery off will work out for the best. I have a 9 AM appt. tomorrow with my primary dr to go over the CBC results and decide if I need another 5 day antibiotic to shave the last 2 pts. off the wbc count. If he puts me on another antibiotic for 5 days -- I could get my CBC done again on Tuesday afternoon at Norton after the appt.with my surgeon since I'll be up there anyway. We'll see what he wants to do! I called my poor Mom at noon to tell her what was going on -- she was within 2 hours of leaving for the airport. She called her travel agent and he was able to rebook her to next Wednesday at the same time for only a $6 charge because she is a senior citizen. So she called the local newspapers and rescheduled the forwarding of them to start next week. Then she went down to the post office and arranged for the mail to be forwarded beginning next Thursday not tomorrow.

I can relate to your frustration. You have a great attitude about it, I am sure that this is for the best. I know that I have had similar situations where I wanted something sooo badly and it fell through, only to have something even better come along! Good luck to you!

Laural There is a good reason for the delay, God only knows why, just keep yourself positive like you are. My mom is coming in at 6:15 today for my surgery on June 13th, My husband will be with me, but she is here to watch over our 14 year old and the dogs and house. I got her refundable tickets just in case something goes south. I am lucky cuz Momma can stay for as long as she is needed. I am so excited. Yikes so close and yet so close...lol Kemah
