CONGRATS ON YOUR APPROVAL...I HAVE THE SAME SURGERY DATE. I GOT THE AMPLIFY PROTEIN FROM GNC. (THE CHOCOLATE IS GREAT) AND I ALSO HAVE THE UNFLAVOR UNJURY TO MIX IN WITH THE SOUPS/JELLO, ETC. GOOD LUCK ON THE SURGERY AND HAVE A FAST RECOVERY. DAWN

Hurrrray! I have a date of June 15th, the countdown is on. My doc recommends starting at least one protein shake a day pre op. I have been using the Carnation Instant Breakfast. Just mix w/one cup of water & shake. I have tried all four flavors in the variety pack & they are all palatable. They are VERY similiar in taste, flavor, & texture as Slim Fast Shakes. My doc's plan is clear fluid in hospital 2nd day, then on to full liquids for remaining stay & for 2 weeks thereafter. Then proceed no sooner than every 2 weeks through the remaining stages. There is a protein powder called BeneProtein, (like BeneFiber), it is colorless & tasteless. You add it to liquids & soft foods. Each scoop has 6 grams of protein. Good Luck! Laura

Hey! I had surgery on Monday (6/6) and I was on soft (moist!!) foods by Wednesday when I wsa discharged. At home, I've eaten chicken sauteed in chicken broth (the fat free boxed stuff is good) and then blended in the food processor. I also took about 6-8 frozen salad shrimp (the kind you buy in a bag at Sam's) - sauteed them and blended them. VERY tasty. Eat VERY slowly (I bought a pkg of baby spoons at WalMart) and make sure it's soft and moist. My doc and nutritionist are most concerned with the fluids but a good (1 oz) meal 3 times a day is what they recommend, too. If you want any other ideas for good tasting but "approved" meal stuff, email me...Good luck!! -Susan
