Hey Mary - I'm a June 1ster. I'm doing okay. My doc sent me home on a pureed diet. I'm having a terrible time with it. My sense of smell has gotten so strong, I think something sounds good....like cream of chicken soup, but as soon as the can is open and the smell hits me...my stomach turns and I toss it in the trash. I have zero appetite. Everytime I think I want to eat, I go in the kitchen and everything turns my stomach. I'm living on protein pudding (which is getting old FAST) and strawberry orange banana Crystal Light (must be COLD). I have to go to the doc this afternoon to get my staples out. I'm dying to see what his scale says. I've been peeking on my scale...but I just can't believe the numbers. On the other hand, I have gotten on it everyday for the past four days, and it has gone down each day...so I know I've lost something. I also see the nutritionist today and I hoping she will give me some good advice to rescue me from envisioning pureed ho-ho's and quarter pounders with cheese....and from being nauseated at the sight and smell of food. Good luck at your appointment today! Pam

hahaha pam! you made me laugh so hard about the quarter pounder with cheese and ho-ho's! boy, those days are long gone and i keep finding that i think of some food and ask myself "man, why didn't you have that before surgery?" oh well, whats done is done. i can start pureed foods today, not that i think i will ever puree anything. just the thought makes me sick. i am going to try the refried beans, as some have suggested on this site. tonight's dinner is going to be mashed taters w/fat free gravy! mmmmm, i cannot wait! please let us know how your appt went this afternoon and if the dr's scales matched up! lots of luck! hugs~mary jo
