Any words of encouragement? Surgery TOMORROW

My surgery is in fourteen hours! Besides the fact that I have to be up at 4 in the morning to be at the hospital by 6, I am a nervous wreck. I am really looking forward to the "post-op" phase, and my "pre-op" phase has lasted barely a month (hardly long enough to get used to the idea...). It's that operation that has me worried... Anyway, does anyone have any words of encouragement for a very nervous lady? I love quotes -- some "ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death" sort of things would work wonders right now. And I don't care how obscure they are (I'm not an English teacher for nothing...) Chantel

I am 14 days post op from an open RNY. The first few days are bad but thank god for the pain pump. Walk, walk walk all over hte nurses station you can do it!! You will be thirsty. I have not had pain meds in a week, only the first two days I was home then I was onto tylenol gel caps. Amazing. Really hard to get used to blender foods, not really there yet. Get in your protine vitamins and water and you will be good to go. Also hosehold help for 2 weeks would be wonderful ( it would have been for me) I gaines 17 lbs of water in hosp???? Weird...but lost that and 20 lbs in only 2 weeks. So everytime I see a Pizza Hut commercial it's not so bad now!!! lol Ware your binder all day long. You will be fine, be strong. This is a process that does not kick into your head untill after surgery ( at least for me) I researched this for 5 years, my brother is 5 years post op, still I was shocked.....But over all not as bad as I thought!! Good Luck from Arizona!!!!!
