To bra or not to bra?

Well hello everyone! I have a date of June 27 - I am still waiting on Insurance stuff - but my Dr.'s office feels it should go just fine. So, I am hesitantly optimistic. My question - When will I wear a bra again? I got big boobies (one of the unlucky side effects of being obese) and wear a size 46DD. So when I don't wear a bra I get sweaty, feel icky and uncomfortable. My poor boobies hang down to my belly button w/out a bra! (YUCK!!) Any thoughts on this?? (Not sure if it matters but I am 29, 5'4" and weigh 260.) Thanks for any advice. Holly Chadwick

LOL I am 5'4 and 250.. I have a 42 D a single D ... and sometime have those same problems. I am sure you will be comfortable again. You may need some plastic surgery work done though. I do hear that after surgery you will lose some of the fat off your chest. I am hoping I dont! I like mine! lol try the best you can to do some chest excerices and it will all work out for you! good luck on every thing, and god bless ~ Stef

Thanks for the input Stef! Long term I might have to get a breast reduction - I'm hoping I'll lose some of my top half "" Any idea how long following surgery it will be until I will be able to wear a bra again? I'm guessing I will be following the hippies of the 60's and going braless at least for a while. Thanks again for the input (and the well wishes!!) Holly

I bought one of those leisure bras, stretchy, hooks in front, no wire. I figure I'll be living in it after surgery, I can't stand not to have a bra on. Very comfy, not a whole lot of support but enough so you don't "feel" so exposed. Sandra SW 250 CW 237 Wt@Surg ? GW 150

Sandra! Stretchy Bra! What an ingenious idea! Better to have a stretchy bra than no bra in my opinion. Thanks for the input! Holly
