Surgey June 1st very nervous!
I don't believe that you will experience much pain in the first few days. I've had lap band surgery twice and both times there was actually very little pain. In hospital you will receive whatever pain meds are necessary to keep you comfortable.
You can expect gas pains, you can expect back pain (because you will be lying flat on a steele table for a few hours) and both of those will resolve with walking. The more you walk, the faster you will heal. Walking will also decrease your risk of post op complications.
Relax, the rest of your life is ahead. You have already suffered so much and what lays ahead will be joyful in many respects. You will no longer suffer the feelings of shame and powerlessness that many of us endure on a daily basis. You will no longer be the biggest woman in the room. These are among the many self encouragers I utter when I consider life on the other side. Try them out, I think they will ease your nerves.
Congratulations, you are almost on the losing side.
