June 13th - First Day of the Rest of My Life

I can't believe that in about 16 days, I'll be given a tool that will allow me to start over in my eating habits and I'll finally be able to lose this weight that I've been fighting all of my life and keep it off! Thank you, Lord!!!!!! Becky

Becky- Congratulations! Hope all goes well and you will enjoy being a loser as much as I have. I'm a year out and couldn't be happier. I'd do it again in a heartbeat --- but I don't have to!!! Look at every step of your journey as a triumph, remember the post-op days are short compared to the rest of your new life! Mine weren't really that bad, just didn't like the pureed stage but loved clear liquids!! If you need pain meds, ask! I was given a pain patch before I went home because I wasn't sure the pills would be enough. Worked like a charm and my recovery was really very easy. Here's to you!

Becky - I'm also having my surgery on June 13th, I wasn't nervous until just a few days ago. Reality started to hit and everything started spinning at once. I'm still very excited about the surgery and will be thinking of you while we're changing our lives together.

Hi Becky! I'm another June 13th-er! Thank you for your very posative post! I think my nerves have been kicking in. Not so much about the surgery, but about the first 3 - 6 weeks after! I will be thinking and praying for you on June 13th! Happy Re-Birthday, huh?!!! -Kathy S.

Hi Becky. I am a 613er also.!! Best of luck to you. I am not nervous yet, but I have noticed the munchies creeping back as I get closer to the date. I wasn't going to take the 6 weeks off at first, but what the hay. I am going to enjoy getting to know the new me and Ihope you will be doing the same. Your sister Romee.
