My surgery is schedule with Dr. Oh at St. Francis on June 14. I am 59 and looking to begin a new life as a healthy senior. I have learned so much in these on-line support groups. Thank all of you who share your good and bad experiences. My experience with Dr Oh, the hospital and all the support people I've worked with has been excellent. Among all the tests I've had was a colonoscopy that revealed a precancerous polyp that was removed. That alone was worth all the red tape and tests. I've cleared all the testing and have my pre-surgery apt with Dr. Oh on June 1 then the hardest part will be waiting until June 14. I have Federal Employees Blue Cross that doesn't require pre approval if you have co morbidities. I have diabetes and high blood pressure with BMI of 39, 5'1, 211#. Thanks again to all of you for sharing your journeys. Eva

congrats on your surgery date. I too have my date on June 14th. I am so excited to start my new healthy life. My surgery is 4 days after my 40th birthday, what a great gift to give myself. It sure seem like forever to complete all the required tests needed. all I got left now is the pre-surgery with my surgeon (Dr. Fischer) on June 6th and the pre-admission with the hospital on June 8th. If you ever need someone to talk to, I am here for ya. good luck on the new journey that awaits us! Dawn
