i have noticed a lot of june 1st dates...cool! ok so i am nervous about post-op. i read some posts on the message board since i been here, about "cheating" and trying "bad" foods, etc.. i sit here and tell myself, oh i'm not going to do that, no way. but i am sure everyone says that pre-op, right? i feel so head-strong about all of this, i hope i can stay as strong as i feel! anyone else having these thoughts? mary jo

This is just my thought on it. I have had the surgery and will be having a revision so ive been post opt before. If your not suppose to have it dont try it or it will be to tempting to go back and have more. If you dont know if it will make u sick stay away from it and dont try it and dont find out. Your better off not trying it. Jess

jess, that's exactly how i think of it right now. i tell friends and family, i don't want to be like "hmmm, let me see how many chicken wings i can eat". i just don't want to find out! i want this to be a permanent change, not just a "diet" i follow in the beginning until i can tolerate regular foods. like i said in my post, i feel real strong right now, but its a lot easier to be strong when you are pre-op...i am hoping i can keep this mindset. thanks so much for your advice!!!!

Your welcome. You can do anything that you put your mind to. Yes this is just a stepping stone and you need to work with it but dont think of it as a diet that word is just one not so nice word. Just keep your head up and stick to the meal plan and you will do well. Jess

I think if you keep focused, remember this is not a fix all, just a tool to help you make the better choices and remember what made you make this decision to begin with....you should do just fine. Keep in mind that people can fail by not following the Dr's orders. Stay head strong if it will help you succeed. But most of all.....stay true to yourself and love who you are and you'll be able to tackle all obstacles
