Plastics cancelled!
I am ok with it though guys. My hemoglobin was only 10.5 today! I was scared to have that much extensive surgery with it so low. We are going to wait a month and the hemotologist is going to "tank me up".
He said that I need to do the 8 hr. iron infusion two times in the next couple of weeks, plus shots of procrit, to raise my red blood cell count. He thinks this should do it for me and that next month I could do surgery.
Well thanks for all your support and prayers and keep 'em up for me til next month!
Wendy
It is a combination of things Kerri. The bariatrics make it hard for me to catch up, but the ulcer thing was the start of it. Back when I got the h. pylori I couldn't eat anything at all. Also I just found out that I am a carrier and possible have something called hemachromatosis. It is an iron storing disease that load iron into organs where it doesn't belong. My brother had it and it was one of the contributing factors in his liver disease.
I won't be able to have surgery until April since the surgeons cant get a date until the 3rd! But I will have all my iron infusions done by then and a chance to get all the rest of my nutrition up by then.

Oh Wendy! I'm sorry to hear that your hemoglobin got so low and you had to cancel surgery. I would have opted out of it as well at this point.
It's better to get your levels high enough - you need that to get through the surgery and for healing as well in your post-op recovery period.
Well, you and I just might be having plastics around the same time. I will know more by next Wednesday. I'm going for my brachioplasty and breast reconstruction with implants.
PS. I am going for my second interviews for the job on Thursday morning. Wish me luck. It does look good!
Take care Wendy. I'll be praying for you!
Love,
Lucy
