OMG, I'M ONE POUND FROM GOAL!
WOW, I can't believe it. I'm exactly one pound from my surgeon's and my goal. I'm so close and never been there.
I've been SMO almost all of my life; probably since the age of 8. Thinking back to when I was this weight, it hasn't been since 6th grade. No wonder people have been telling me that I look thin.
I am so thankful that I decided to have the surgery. I have my life back and am enjoying every minute of it.
Maintenance will be a brand new journey for me for the rest of my life. That is a scary concept. I've never been there. I'm so used to the lose weight mode. I know that I'm going to have to be diligent so that the pounds don't start to creep up again.
I've had my ups and downs since June 8, 2005. I haven't been 100% perfect but I did the best I could. I was used to being the perfectionist; it was either 100% or nothing. I'm beginning to realize that any strides in controlling my SMO is better than nothing.
I am filled with joy and happiness today with tears of joy and relief. This is me flying high!
Shopping is so much fun. Now I have the problem of finding the small sizes in clothes! Go figure. Before the plus sizes were far and few between. Now they have a lot more color and variety.
Ah, Life is grand!
Was I scared about having the RNY? You bet! It was either have the surgery or die a slow death.
On that note, I close by saying that I am thankful for this website and all of you with your inspirational messages, questions, concerns, and support.
Have a wonderful, fantastic day and weekend!
Hugs,
Lucy

1 pound to goal!
Hi Kerri! Can you believe this? I was so happy when I weighed myself this morning. As you know, I've been having difficulty with staying on track recently (actually the past month).
I got my act together. I lost my gain plus some
I'll have to work on getting a new posting picture! Yeah, I think I'm getting there (sexier!) I'm just so happy (it's time to dance the night away!)
Thanks for your well wishes and post.
Have a wonderful weekend and good luck with the marathon!
Love ya right back,
Lucy
Lucy! Lucy! Lucy! How exciting this is for you and for all of us that support you. I know I have said it before but again, YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION!!! Job well done Lucy! Get that 1 pound off so you can bask in the glory of reaching goal. I can only hope that will be possible for me one day. I need to get strickter and like you always say "follow the pouch rules!" Thanks for all your sharing! Love, Diane

What an inspiration you are!!!! Congratulations, you have done a great job. I can really relate to what you are saying about maintenance. I am having a hard time figureing that out also. I have spent so much of my life focused on losing that I am not sure how to make my head switch to a maintenance mode. Plus I am scared of regain. But I am so proud of you. Great job!
Lynn
Hi my beautiful Lynn! This indeed will be a scary time for me. To try and maintain, time will tell. Of course, I will be losing a bit more with the plastics. Plus, I am a member of weigh****chers and my ww goal is 155. That's the maximum I can weigh at my height (if I want to work for weigh****chers). I will fess up when I hit their goal. My ww leader knows I had RNY and some of the members do too. I have a huge support group there and need to be honest with them. I'm sort of scared about that, but I think they will understand and accept my decision to have the RNY.
Thank you for your post and inspiration as well. We are a great team on this board!
Hugs,
Lucy
Scary! I am really proud of you, but if you are like me the goal is actually a frightening thing to encounter. The closer I get the more freaked out I become!
I won't know what to do after I meet goal weight. What is the first thing you are gonna do? I think we should do something significant when we get there. But I don't know what to do. Like plant a tree or something LOL!
Good job Lucy, you really have had quite the journey, over 300 lbs is no joke!
