CHOO CHOO!!! PROTEIN TRAIN....ALL BOARD.....
I found these two recipes for protein balls and I'm a makin' me some protein balls tonight! I'm dividing them up in ziplock baggies and keeping some at home and at work. When I get hit with a between meals craving.... I'm grabbing the protein baggies!!
PROTEIN BALLS WITH CRUNCH
1 cup peanut butter (low sugar)
2 scoops chocolate protein powder
1/2 cup low carb Special K
3 TBSP Sugar Free Maple Syrup
about a cup of oatmeal
3 packets splenda
*optional - nuts, 1 sqaure melted unsweetened chocolate
Melt the PB in micro 30-40 seconds, stir in the SF maple syrup, mix dry ingredients, then pour PB sryup mixture over and mix, mix mix!! Roll into balls about the size of walnuts and package up in ziplock baggies. Store in fridge.
The amount of protein in these depends on how much protein is in your protein powder and how many balls you get out of it. I opted for the Special K protein cereal - which adds an additional 5 g protein and 4 g fiber. My protein powder has 20g protein per scoop.
PROTEIN BALLS Easy
1 cup Peanut Butter (low sugar, or no sugar added)
1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
1 CUP protein powder
5 packets splenda
same mixing instructions... can also do the nuts or melted unsweetened square of chocolate. This recipe makes 20-24 balls. I don't know what the numbers are... but looks like a LOT of protein in these.
I making the first one tonight - the crunchy ones.... when these are gone, I'll try making the second one.
Come on Junebugs!!!!!!! Get on the TRAIN!!! Share your protein!!!
Hugs,
Pam
Okay, I just made the crunchy protein balls (the first one above)
I used more PB....and 3/4 cup of the Special K protein plus....
Here's the stats:
1 1/2 cups PB = 13.5 g protein
3/4 cup Special K Protein Plus = 10 g protein
2 scoops unjury chocolate = 40 g protein
1 cup oats = 10 g protein
Total: 73.5 Grams protein for whole lot
21 balls = 3.5 per ball or
10.5 g Protein per baggie of 3 balls.
Not bad!! They are pretty good too - just like no bake cookies!! Quite filling.
I'm not so sure these would be very good with an entire cup of protein powder though... The ones I made with 2 scoops are good though.
