I am having a lot of female problems and I am pretty sure I need to have a hysterectomy. My GYN does not want to preform major surgery since my gastric bypass is only a year out. Has anyone else had this problem. I am in major pain and really need to do something. I have major cramps almost all the time. I am taking vicodin for the pain, but it isn't much help.

My Wife looked into alternative treaments before she had her hysterectomy. Something called Endometrial ablation. I'm not sure if her symptoms were the same as yours, but it might be worth looking into.

One of my friends just had the endo ablation.... I'll ask her about it (she's less than a year wls post-op). Seems to me that it would be worse for your health for this to continue..... like this could affect your iron level and red blood cell count. But I'm no doctor. My sister had her appendix out at 4 months wls post-op.... I had my chest and arms done at 11 months post op..... maybe this doctor is just extra precautious?? Have you considered a second opinion? I'll ask my friend to contact you about the ablation procedure.... I'm so sorry you are experiencing so much pain and discomfort. I pray you are all better soon. (((hugs))) Pam

I'm one year out and am having a hysterectomy with a lower body lift in three weeks. I also had my GB out and an internal hernia repair in January. I'm fine, I don't really understand why no surgery for you unless you have other issues which make it riskier for you... Cindy 234/139/134

Hi Beverly When you need surgery, you need it!! My bariatric surgeon actually isn't happy that I'm waiting to have my hernia repaired, it's in a bad spot (incarcerated). Anyway, I'll have it done 8/25 with abdomnialplasty and brachioplasty. If you need the surgery, don't put it off or feel you have to deal with the pain.

Beverly I'm Ginger's friend I'm only 8 months post-op and began having problem early out (read my profile if you get a chance). Now, keep in mind that I have a history of endometriosis but the problems with excessive bleeding were new after WLS. I would love to speak with you directly or correspond via email. I will tell you that since my ablation...life is MUCH improved. Tanya -119
