Well, I can see them wanting to see your calories around 1200. It doesn't necessarily have to be exactly 1200 per day - everyday.... But consuming less than 1200 calories for too long can bring on symptoms of anorexia - where things start shutting down and who wants that? Some days I only get in 500-600 calories....maybe once or twice a week...but all the other days I'm anywhere between 1000-1500 calories per day...and I'm not gaining. I'm holding steady. I have a set number in my head. If I hit 130 - I'm cutting back or upping my exercise....but so far....so good. BUT having said all that - I think your weight is GREAT for your height and as long as you are healthy and your blood work comes back okay - why worry? I think sometimes doctors get more hung up on numbers than the patients do! You have done an AWESOME job!!! Hugs, Pam

thanks pam! i am not going to worry about it. i hope my labs come back ok. and if they don't, i'm sure i can get them back to where they should be. maybe i will try to use fitday again. i'm also thinking about trying to add a protein drink into my day. the sad thing is, a lot of times we don't have "good" stuff in the house to eat, so i just won't eat. a lot of days i am eating once a day with maybe a snack. money is tight and i have to stretch where i can. unfortunately, the cheap stuff is usually full of carbs and i try to not go overboard. hugsssssssss

Mary Jo, At 5'2" and 116 your BMI is in the perfectly healthy range. Even at 125 you would still be normal weight. I fyou are planning on having plastics do not lose anymore, or at least try to get to 125, otherwise you will end very underweight when you are done. Normal BMI is 18.5-24.9. Right now at 116 you are 21.2, which is approaching the lower end of the normal. At 124 you would be 22.8 approaching the higher end of normal. I agree with your doctor though that you need to get your calories up to 1200 to maintain your weight. That is a healthy amount of calories for a petite person who wishes to continue losing weight, and actually about 1500 should help you maintain and not lose. All of us who are 1 year out should be getting between 1000-1200 calories a day to continue losing weight. More if you are very active. Hope this info helps. Deb

thanks deb. i think i like the lower end of the normal BMI scale! oh how i wish i could get plastics, but right now that is nothing more than a dream to me. i am going to try to get more calories, at least up them day by day if i can. i would have to get under 102 to fall into the underweight category, so i think i am safe! hugsssssssssss

MaryJo, Hun that is good that you went to see the Dr and glad all is well, you stay where you feel good hun but yes up the calories for sure, you need to give your body good health so you do not get sick! ~hugs~ I am shooting for 125 lbs myself and I am 5' 1/2 inch and that is on the high side of the BMI chart in normal. I am just hoping I can get there.....The surgeons goal is 150 lbs but mine is the 125 lbs, I am not as young as I used to be.. ~Hugs~ Debra P
