Hello All ~Hugs~ Please if anyone can give me any info or experience on the below problem that a friend is having, I would greatly appreciate it.... My friends Mom called me last night to give me info on how her daughter did in surgery yesterday, she had her RNY lap. All went well but she had scar tissue from her c section and the Dr. said it was a little harder and more chances of internal bleeding. They kept her in ICU, waiting to hear this morning how she is doing. Now question is this, she was throwing up blood last night and her mother was very concered. Does anyone know of this and what might your experience be? I told her i will ask the board as I know vomiting is common but the blood I was not sure. If anyone can add any info please let me know! Thanks again Debra P

I know that they do some cutting and stapling and I had plenty of blood on my gavage tube when they pulled it out of my mouth. I imagine some people will be more sensitive and vomit this. However I would say that once or twice would be expected, but if it continues and if the blood is fresh there is a problem and should be directed to the surgeon. Wendy
