Icky Boss
You know... I'm sure you have already thought about it... but carry someone of those medical wipes with you.
Now, hang on, I'm not talking about carrying a sign around and HUGE tub of them... though, you might need to try that if a few discreet uses of such product from your desk dooesn't work to change their habits...

Thank you ALL for your advice, I need to really think about this before doing anything..
Debra P
Yes Deb, that is GROSS! Be careful how you handle it - you don't want the boss to think you are "targeting" him or anything. That could get ugly.
I had a supervisor that didn't wash her hands either. DROVE ME NUTS! She would go into the ladies room at the same time as me....use another stall of course.....then WAIT for me leaning up against the sinks....but NEVER WASH HER HANDS!! Plus, she was touchy feely...she was always putting her hands on my arm or touching my hand when she talked to me. It was just nasty. Thank God, she is gone.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people DON'T wash their hands! There's this other lady in our building that is sooooooooo loaded with money. She doesn't even have to work...but her hubby is a bigwig and she comes to the office with him....in her mink coats...which she sometimes gives to the less fortunate...when she gets another.... anyway....you get the picture. She is prim and proper and decked to the nines everyday..... NEVER washes her hands. She BOLTS straight from the stall, out the door. WTF?? Has the world gone MAD?!?!
Maybe we are just over-educated.... I know they must have seen some of the news stories and articles about handwashing and the spread of germs, bacteria, viruses, illnesses....all kinds of bad stuff. Haven't they?
Maybe if you were talking to them about "someone else" that never washes their hands and how it grosses you out and how bad it is....like a family that is always sick... or something.... Maybe they will get self-concious and start washing thier hands? I dunno....the power of suggestion?
Or maybe buy some really GOOD smelling antibacterial soap (bath & body works or something similar) - maybe something with a smell for MEN and women....like a musk or clean smelling scent.... show it to them like "look what I got us....OMG this makes your hands smell soooooo good" or something to that effect.
I feel for ya Deb.... that is an icky situation.
