Please help me. I am so worried that I am going to stop losing. I have been at this weight (185-186 lbs.) for the past month. I have increased my protein as of late which means that me calorie count has gone up. I am trying to walk at least a mile a day. My schedule does not allow for more than that wi**** did. What can I do to break this!! Please help me. Thanks.

Laural .... not sure what to say here. MY weight loss is a such a slo crawl now and its frustrating. PERHAPS you might want to consider that plataue busters diet that on hear alot. I know LYNN did it and had great success. GOOD LUCK! lisa

Hi Laural! From what I've been seeing on this board, we all have had a few weeks where the scale doesn't move. Are you noticing that your clothes are getting bigger? Sometimes we don't see the results on the scale but our bodies are getting smaller. Your body is probably adjusting to its new weight. I've gone through cycles of that throughout my weight loss journey. I had a brief plateau my second month after surgery. Then the weight started to drop again. I think the weight comes off when the body wants it to. As long as you are following the pouch rules, eating the right amount of protein, drinking water and exercising the only other thing you can do is what Lisa suggested, the plateau buster diet. It's been posted here and on other forums or messageboards as well. Make sure that you are eating enough, especially if you are exercising consistently. Don't starve your body. If you do, your body will hold onto the weight for preservation. I hope this helps you. Hugs, Lucy

Thanks everyone for responding. I do admint there are days where I mess up on my diets but very rarely. I don't seem to notice any changes in my clothes but everyone that sees me says they can tell a difference. I am seriously considering a plateau buster diet to see if it would help. I DO NOT want to fail with this and am so very glad I have done this. It is the best thing I have done for myself in years. This weekend I am helping my daughter move so when that is over if I have not started to loose I will do one of the pateau busters. Wish me luck. Thanks again.

I lost 0 pounds last month, but still had to go buy some new clothes, shoes, and underwear. So I assume I lost inches ( I don't measure) I am currently doing the Plateau Buster diet, and it is working. See Lisa above, it's on her page. It gets rid of the carbs, and you are doing all protein... a lot of it too. Yesterday I had 164 grams. Normally I would have maybe 70. It's not easy.. but after the first few days, it gets easier. I have cheated a tiny bit by allowing myself a SF fudgsicle and cream in my coffee though. I started on Monday, and as of today I lost 2 lbs. (hoping it stays off) Basically, when all else fails, we just gotta go back to the rules. Good luck!

I wish I could offer some words of wisdom - no luck here. I would think that journaling what you are eating/calories and finding a way to increase your exercise even a little would help. We are all pretty frustrated right now it seems. Dawn
