Topic: RE: hair loss
I had some hair loss for about a couple of months but it was never too much and it basically stopped. It is very VERY important that you get at least 80 grams of protein a day. Also, the vitamins are critical! I don't know much about much, but I swear by the VistaVitamins... I believe that they were key on my not losing a lot of hair... but again, I don't know much
Topic: RE: hair loss
I have lost exactly 102 lbs since june 14th however my hair loss was rapid just after the first two months and has stopped pretty much altogether. They say the sooner it starts the sooner it ends --it probably lasted about 4 months for me.
Topic: RE: Anyone else with low energy?
Hey Carmen,
I tried e-mailing you and it came back, so I'll just try and reply to this.
I just got my lab work done, and everything is normal, Bizarre, huh? I then decided to ask an Herbalist friend, and she said it sounded like I was low in Pantothentic Acid (B-6), interesting to me because when i was pregnant, I had major morning sickness, and the only thing that helped was B-6 Injections. I wonder if they're connected? who knows. Sooooo,
I'm off to the Health Food Store to get B-6 vits. to suppliment, (I already take B-12 sublingually)
Good Luck to you, and I hope you figure it out and feel better soon as well!~~Violet

Topic: RE: Starting as a Lightweight????
I hope you don't mind me putting in my two sence here I was wondering around the message boards and saw your post. I actually had my surgery on May 17. I like going to the April site, and June site. Anyway, I was a lightweight too. Coming out of hspital at 268...went in hospital at 248...yep I gained in hospital anyway...Everyone told me I would NOT loose weight at the rate of my firends who were heavier...To expect a very slow loss. This REALLY bothered me. This is what I do. After every meal, and still to this day..I tell myself I am full after the second bite of food. You see, to me food wasn't just nourshment, but it was a mind thing. So I tell myself ALWAY'S I am not hungry. (mind over matter thingy) It has worked wonders for me. I eat about a 1/2 cup per meal and feel full always. I now weigh 136 and hope to loose another 11 lbs. I am 5'7, with a VERY small frame..measured wrist and it is 5 in. around
I don't look thin at all. My best friend weighs 162 and much smaller than me. She is also shorter than I am. With you being tall...that is a definate advantage. I bet you look GREAT! The scales definatly slow down, but you will continue to loose if you watch those calaries. Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey.
Hugs,
Brenda

Topic: RE: Anyone else with low energy?
I am having the same problem and especially with my last period. I am getting 8-10 hours of sleep and still waking up and wanting to go back to sleep. I have a 2 year old too. Not only can I not concentrate at work but I am so worn out when we get home all I want to do is sit on the couch. I called my Doctor this morning and am waiting to hear back. In the mean time I think I am going to go to Walmart at lunch and get so B something ; )

Bubbleboo...You will get there too! I know you will! Work it! You have the determination to do it! It seems to get harder the further out we get...but I am still staying focused. I want to be healthy more than anything right now!
Thanks for the good wishes!

Topic: RE: Is the effectiveness of Prozac affected post-op?
I've been on prozac as long as you and had surgery a month after--I haven't seen any difference. Could it be that you didn't deal completely with his death at that time and/or other issues are arising because of the weight loss? I have realized lately that I feel very vulnerable 100 pounds lighter--quite an amazing revelation. If you continue to slip into depression, see your doc!! Marian
