Topic: RE: can't seem to lose since January!!
Maybe you need to exercise more. I workout 5 times a week, sometimes 6 and last week somedays I went twice in one day since I'm working on losing the last 10 pounds. A few times last week I did 2 hours of cardio plus lifted weights, but it worked. I lost another pound and am down to 139 ( I started at 276) my surgery was on June 14th. I lost a good amount in Feb but only lost 4 pounds in March and only a few pounds so far this month, but at least I'm headed in the right direction. It's definately harder now, but I'm determined to make this happen by the time my year anniversary is up in June. I eat around 600 to 800 calories and burn off at least half of that at the gym.
Hope you get losing again soon! Good luck.

Boy all I can say is ditto ditto ditto!!!
I think I eat alot more now than before / months ago/ not before surgery!!!
but, if you think of what we ate before I guess we're eating probably what they would call a "normal" portion..
we aren't really used to a normal portion!! We're used to gigantic or peanut portions. Not normal portions..
I don't want to gain..HELL NO!!!!!!! I think if I start I'll freak out and stop eating..lol...
I think we're all doing great. Keep up the great work.

Topic: RE: Stalling vs. Stopping
I have been doing the same since new years also. I gain and lose five pounds depending on the time of the month.
I don't know but I am frustrated too.

I am 5'10 started around 300 and now weigh 176. I went from a size 24 jeans to size 10. I still want to lose 25 more pounds.
I can eat very little and struggle everyday with eating something that makes me sick as a dog. Carbs, sugar, fat all make me dump. Eating to fast makes me vomit.
1/2 scrambled egg
1cup of salad, 1/2 if I add meat
1/4 grilled cheese and I start feeling yucky
1/2 of a lean cuisine..most of the time I just eat the meat in there
3-4 bites of a subway sub

Hi T.J.
I understand exactly what you mean! I too worry about gaining it back. I went from 272 wearing a size 22 jeans and 24/26 top to a size 2 or a 4 depending on the cut. I weigh nore, but I'm a smaller size than I was in High School! Lot of tummy skin though.
My eating has been all over the place. I still don't drink with meals and recently measured my bowl of chili the other night because it looked like so much. It was 3/4 of a cup. I got almost too full with it. I can eat almost a whole grilled cheese sandwich, a whole chicken drumstick. 3 egg yolks over easy and 2 sausage links, etc. When I eat at home, I eat less than I do when we go out to eat. The last three days I ate constantly (every 3 hours and sometimes sooner) I just thought I was famished but then the good ol' period showed up and now I'm back to being full from a tiny bunch of grapes.
Like you, when I eat fast, I eat more and when I slow down I notice when I'm full and stop. I've started writing down what I'm eating and what time just to see how many calories I'm putting away. It's averaging around 900-1200. I notice I eat more at night too.
Do you still dump? I find that I get sooooooo sleepy when I have sugar. No real dumping like in the beginning, just a sugar coma/hangover. Hope some of my rambling helps. I'm curious too.

WOW! Everyone has done awesome! I love seeing how we're all doing because it is such a motivator! I was 10 months out 4 days ago and weighed in at 173, down from 287 for agrand total of 114 lbs. YESSSSS!
I use to wear size 26/28 and 3XL tops, and now am wearing size 14 pants and size Lg tops. Most of my problem is in my extra stomach skin and my lovely batwings. I hate running up the steps and my skin continues after I reach the top. EWWW! But it's a smalltrade off for the way I feel about myself. I have a lot more energy, lost the sleep apnea and the sugar issues. Sometimes I worry that I won't lose much more, but I try to not let it stress meout.
I know I need to exercise more, I was going to Curves 3-5x a week and walking 3-4x , but about 1 month ago my 15 yr old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor after being sick for 6 months .....and since his emergency surgery .... we do Phys. Therapy and Occ. Therapy 3X a week. It's interesting that some of the reasons I over-ate before have surfaced again....so that's been a tough thing to deal with. But this too shall pass. I couldn't have had the energy that I have now to deal wtih this if I still had my extra 114 lbs. I just need to keep my head about my eating. I unfortunately don't dump on sugar.
Hang in there everyone we have all done soooo great! Keep the posts coming...they really ARE MY SANITY!!!
Love all you JUnebugs,

Hi Junebugs,
Wow it has been a while since I've posted last . . . I am so psyched to read about everyone's successes at 10 months out!
I am one week shy of 10 months postop, had a surgeon's appt yesterday and officially am down to 184 from a starting weight of 300 (I'm 5'5"). I am really pleased with this 116-lb loss but feel it could be better if I were doing more exercising and being more careful with my food choices.
I have had continuing problems with lack of restriction and getting hungry too soon after a meal, so I have had to stick with measuring portions out and not relying on my body to tell me when I've had enough. I also stick to a schedule of eating meals at specific times each day, and am trying to stay within 800-1200 calories a day. Some days I feel like a bottomless pit, other days I can eat breakfast and then not remember that I need to eat again. Defies all logic, I tell ya.
I started in 4x-5x sizes, now I'm getting into 16W's with no problems, even fit into a pair of size 14 Jordache jeans from decades ago yesterday. Couldn't breathe in them, but got em buttoned LOL. My boobs are disappearing, will definitely need to get ps work when all is said and done (and I win the lottery).
My biggest problem right now is my huge panni, it is hanging really low and still very fatty, and keeping me from getting into smaller sizes. I talked with my surgeon yesterday (WLS surgeon who also does tummy tucks) and he took some photos, we will submit to insurance for approval but I've been told that my insurer is a tough sell. I hope that I've gotten my PCP to do enough documentation about rashes, back pain, etc. to prove this is a medical necessity, as there is NO WAY I could self pay for any type of ps.
I am pledging to myself to get serious about these last 30 lbs, hopefully if my ps is approved I can lose as much as possible before then to have the best results.
So that's my update for now. I hope everyone is having a great day!
