At a loss of 132 pounds in 11 months you have nothing to be ashamed of. I know what you mean by wanting to be under 200. I'm right there with you and I'm losing so slowly. We will both make it in due time. Hang in there and keep doing the right things. You know the drill, protein first, lots of water, exercise, etc. LAP RNY 6-21-04 310/201

I was getting a bit disgusted with myself as I have only lost 15 lbs over the last 3 months. Maybe this will motivate me to succeed... Here's my stats: Start weight - 245 Current weight - 160 Anniversary goal - Realistically...150 and that is shooting high!! Kelly

Don't be too down on yourself.. I feel the same way sometimes.. But we have to consider.. you may have two people weighing the same amount but on is 5'10 and the other is 5'4. so the shorter person actually has more excess weight, hence they might lose faster.. the more overweight you are, generally the faster you will lose.. not to mention your actual body fat vs lean muscle, and excess water.. i have to keep reminding my self of this every time i read the message boards.. i know its hard, !! i wish i had more comforting words for you.. rest assure, you are not the only one who feels this way.. take care, and feel better! I read the main message board a lot, and I get really down 'cause it seems that the majority of people who started out at my weight are a lot less than I am at almost 11 months out. I know I shouldn't compare myself; but it's REALLY hard not to- and I'm so upset by the thought that I won't ever get to be under 200. I am happy for where I am now, but if you look at my profile for the past 6 months it's been REALLY slow. Other people who didn't go through this think I'm just being greedy or something. It's not like I want to be skinny, I just want to be under 200 soooooo bad. Thanks for listening........ LAP RNY 06-28-04 360-228

How much more do you think you can lose by your Anniversary Date??? Set your GOALS now!!! Here's my stats: Start weight -- 300 Current weight -- 180 Anniversary Goal -- 160 hopefully!!! Hoping to hear from all of you JuneBugs, I love reading our success stories Alrighty, I'll take that challenge. Here's my stats: Start weight - 270 current weight - 159 Anniversary Goal (June 21st) - 150 This might actually be extremely difficult, considering how hard i've hard to struggle to lose the last 10 lbs, but I have no problem shooting for it. If I miss it, and am 152, I'll be ok with that too. Laura

11 months for me will be on 29 May... I've been stuck at 97 pounds for a while now, but I know exactly what I've been doing wrong and am working on getting out of this funk Started at 280, wearing size 24/26, 2XL/3XL and I'm at 183 and wearing size 14/16P/L. My goal is to weigh 140 (normal BMI)... but having been overweight all my life I'm not sure if it's a realistic goal, but I'm still shooting for it As for size, I'll be happy with a solid size 12, but I'm thinking a size 10 may not be so unattainable... My 1 year appointment is 11 July and I hope to be at around 165 by then... wish me luck! :D

Hi JuneBugs!!! I will be 11 months on the 21st also and I have lost 95lbs so far, I want to reach the 100lb mark by June 21st. I have really enjoyed seeing myself shrink with each passing month, I have turned into a shopaholic!!! I started at 280lbs, wearing size 22's, now I'm in size 12's and really very happy!!!! Now Im thinking a 10 wouldnt be soooo bad. But could stay right here forever just need to tone up a bit and Im working on that. Take Care!!!!

Topic: New Phoenix Support Group!
I am starting a new support group in Phoenix, AZ serving the metro Phoenix area in June. Location is still be acquired, but I should have that finalized within the next week. This is an Obesity Help chapter. Each meeting you will learn something new about pre-op or post-op process, tips and tricks, recipes, exercises, dealing with unsupportive people, living with WLS and so much more!! If you live in the Phoenix Metro area or ever visit this area, you are welcome to attend!! Online support is great, but face-to-face support is even better!! "Those who attend support meetings and support gatherings will have a higher success rate in their WLS experience" ------ Colleen Cook, WLS author. No matter how far out you are, what stage you are at now (gaining/losing), etc. you should come!! ALL are welcome! Go to website below for more information or to join the online support group!!
