Topic: Why so down on my 1 year out anniv?
Hellooooo,,, today is my 1 year anniversary,,, looking back what a awesome year it has been. Why am I feeling blue today, I should be estatic,,, I even dressed up a bit, well looking kinda cute, did my hair and make up,,,,, I look pretty damn good, but why am I blue inside? I gotta get out of this funk... I started out at 316lbs,, now I am 187.5lbs,,, of course I wi**** was down more (must be the reason for the funky mood)... I have lost a total of 63.5 inches! This includes my chest, waist, hips, R arm, L arm, L thigh, R thigh only... lets sseeee 63.5 that equals 5.2 feet, that is a good way to look at it..... I am kinda mad at myself for feeling so down today,,, come on and help out a girl that is stuck in a rut!!!!!

Topic: 1 year today
Today is my 1 year re-birthday (for my surgery). I am so much happier.
I have lost 143 pounds, am now shopping in the junior dept and wearing a size 12 and am enjoying spending more time with my kids without the fear of embarrassing them. I am also enjoying riding the rides at Six Flags and Great America.
Some of my goals for the coming year are to lose another 25 pounds, go skydiving, learn to ride my new bike, go dancing (taking a summer college class) and go horseback riding.
Wishing you a wonderful journey and all the happiness you heart can hold.

Topic: RE: One year out and twenty pounds lost...
Lucky me....my surgeon retired about 5 months after he did my surgery and told me not to worry about calling anyone (bariatric surgeon) for atleast 8 months to a year. I am in the process of finding a surgeon to repair the 2 staple line disruptions.

Beth,
I am sorry about your troubles. I will pray that the new surgeon has the answers you need and that insurance will cover everything.
All my best,
Kathy

Angie,
Don't feel alone. I din't have a staple line problem. I just didn't lose weight. Or maybe there is a problem. My surgeon didn't order any tests to see what the problem was. Let me know if insurance covers a repair,. I'm seeing a different surgeon about a revision. If it isn''t covered by insurance, then I'm out of luck. Good luck to you!

I'm one year post-op and I stopped losing weight after three months. All I lost was 42 pounds and now I've gained back 10. My surgeon won't do anything. He says it's because I'm depressed. My depression is under better control than it has been in years. Besides, how does that affect weight loss after bi-pass? Most people who have by-pass are somewhat depressed. I'm seeing a new surgeon tomorrow that does revisions. Pray he can help me.
