Angie, Thanks for taking the poll...I hope other June Bugs take it as well....it helps to be able to reflect together....and know that some of our Successes and some of our Fears are common to others who have had the WLS. I believe that this site is what gets me through when I can't do it myself. Goodluck on reaching your 1 yr. goal....You can do it! Cindy

Topic: RE: Why so down on my 1 year out anniv?
Hi Christy! Congratulations on your anniversary and your wonderful achievement! {{{HUGS}}} Isn't it weird how we human beings get blue when we should be tickled pink? In our case, I have a feeling that a lot of it is emotional exhaustion. It's probably been one heck of a ride for you! You've come a long way! I know, for myself, my own excitement and happiness at losing weight/inches, coupled with the emotions brought on by the reactions of other people, tend to exhaust me and sometimes (especially when alone) I emotionally "crash." It's hard being upbeat so much! I also think that sometimes these feelings are feelings of guilt. Even though I know I'd tried all sorts of things in the past to lose weight and the decision to have WLS was the right one, I sometimes feel like I'm receiving unjustified praise. Silly, huh? I guess I'm so used to feeling bad about myself that it's hard to accept the good feelings! Could some of these things be what's bothering you? Well, keep your spirits up, you are doing great and deserve to feel good! ~~ Ilene Rachel RNY WLS June 22, 2004 Top wt 296.5/Present 172.5

Topic: RE: 1 year today
congrats....my anniversary in on the 14th. Hubby and I just bought bikes, and just started taking dance lessons.....ballroom, swing, western etc.....lots of fun and exercise too. Something I never would have done a year ago when I was fat!! And I can even dance in heels now. And when we go out dancing at clubs sometimes we're the only ones on the dance floor and my husband said to me last weekend "all eyes are on your dear." And I actually liked that idea! What a difference a year makes, although I'm down cause I'm bloated this week and up a few pounds. Also skipped the lunchtime workout today and ate more than usual.....oh well sometimes we just have to relax and eat a bit more I guess. I'd like to do skydiving too, but it's so expensive for a few minutes of freefalling through the sky. Hubby thinks I'm nuts! I've lost 143 pounds on a good day, 2 pounds from my goal of 130 pounds. Went from a size 24 to a size 4 which are hard to find and 6's are loose. Wising you continued success! Terry Coles 276/132/130 soon hopefully

Topic: Time is going to slow....
I am looking up each page on this site and don't really know if I am doing it right. But any way I am very nervous cause this seems to be moving very slow for me. I have not even had my first visit with the Dr. yet. I tried to have this done for the past 3 years and it seems like I always had the wrong Dr. or Hospital that my insurance would not pay for. So I think I am headed in the right direction now. Can any tell me anything about the banding and there experience? Or just give me some advise on Time...(laughing)
