Congratulations Mary! I have just received my referral but haven't made the appointment yet, I am waiting for insurance approval. I too and concerned about pain. I have had 4 hernia repairs and the last one was the worse (as far as pain goes) so I too am a little skiddish. Anyone else out there that can give us some insite?

Hello all you junebugs. well I started out just seeing if I would even be approved for a tummy tuck and lo and behold I got a date. this Sept. 7th.
I'm only concerned that I'll be in ton's of pain. more than the surgery. anyone have it done yet??? how was your experence and are you glad it's over and done now???
any info would be helpful.

BJ.... Just remember to have your blood checked really well.....I had my TTdone almost 4 weeks ago and am still not feeling up to my old self.....see my note to all posted on the board. The doctors are right when they say that this surgery is like no other one you have ever had...
It takes lots of time to get over it. Good luck, I know you will do well, just do what ever it is the doctors tell you....

Hi,
I felt the same way when I was nearing the two's now that I am close to onederland, it seems 10 times slower. I've been at 208.5 for almost 3 weeks now. My logic says to be patient but the rest of me is like a little kid, I want it now and I feel like holding my breath until I get my way. Sadly, that didn't work then and still doesn't work now.
I will just have to wait.

Hi everyone . . .
I had my official checkup with the surgeon yesterday (I'm almost 13 months out) and it went well. He was pleased with my loss and told me at this point that I may lose "another 5 pounds here or there" but not to expect too much more weight loss. I am 15 or so pounds away from my personal goal of 150 (I'm 5'6") and he thinks I can make it.
We discussed getting a tummy tuck and he said he thinks he can remove 5-7 more pounds of skin/flab, so that will get me a bit closer to goal. We are getting ready to submit for insurance approval and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have a hernia that will need repair as well, so hopefully this works in my favor. I have to gather documentation from my PCP about skin rashes and lower back pain to support the tummy tuck approval.

i am also in your shoes along with everyone else here I have had my surgery June 4th of 2004 and am at the 300 link and seems like it is not going anywhere but trust me it is because I was weighing much much more then this so it does take time you dont want to lose it to fast because you can run into complications losing to fast so just sit back and relax your mine because it took years to gain and it's going to take time to get rid of what you don't want. The surgery is a tool to help you lose and you have to do the rest. So good luck and ease your mine because you are going to get to the weight sooner then you think you may not see it but others will.

Believe me, I know how you feel! I have been losing soooo slowly now & have been at the same weight for over a month!

You are doing great--look at what you have lost in a little over a year!!!
I've slowed down since my surgery 6/10/04 and was told that I'm not eating enough and not drinking enough water so I'm working on both items and the pounds are beginning to drop again though slowly. Can't get in a lot of exercise due to a bad knee and need knee replacement surgery soon. Anyway, don't get discouraged. You are doing great! I'm down a little over 90lbs total and feel so much better. I'm sure you do too. Diana

I caint seam to get out of the 2's fast enough..
my weight to day was 207.I just caint seam to get past 200,I hope when i have my TT.next month,it will help.Maybe i just wont it gone to fast
