Topic: Is this enough?
Hi, I am new to this but was wondering if anyone feels the same? Have I lost enough? No I am not at the size I really want to be and I thought I would have lost more than 109#'s in 13mths? But, I feel good, look so much better, am able to do more than I have ever been able to do. Diabetes under control, same with BP. But, Can I or will I loose more. ( I know that if I work harder Maybe? or for sure) If anyone out there has a response even a harsh one bring it on. Thanks, Barbara

Angie, Thank you for posting this. I am guilty. This ha**** home. I never came to this site, today is my 2nd visit 13 mths. But wow, I have lost 109#'s and feel great at my now 177 weight although I am only 5'tall I am still obese. I have been fooling myself, not excersing as much as I know I can, not getting my protein in and making the wrong choices at times. Then being upset that I have not lost more?????. Idiot me. I needed to read this. Thank you so much, Barbara

Abby, I just read your posting. Do Not Give Up HOPE. I have never posted anything before and your heartbreak touched me. We can tend to get down on ourselves because we do not fit or it sounds that you feel everyone is doing better than you. As other have said everyone of us is different. I use to look at the others who had the surgery and have lost so much more than me and feel not good about myself. Then I realized that I am what I am and even though I may not have lost the weight where I wanted to lose it or as miuch as I wanted to loose. I have lost weight and do feel better and I have to keep that in my mind all the time. So Please, Keep moving, eat the good stuff (protein 1st) and talk to your dr. If you are not getting support from you Drs office staff get to a support group. Best of luck to you and I will check out this message board more often. Barbara

Topic: PCP visit today = PS referral
Hi again Junebugs, I am excited as can be -- and frustrated as all get-out at the same time. Today was my PCP visit where I asked for documentation of rashes and back pain to support the tummy tuck which my WLS surgeon wants to do alongside my hernia repair this fall. My PCP was happy to write me a letter in support of medical necessity, so I'm crossing my fingers, toes, heck even my LEGS now that I can do so LOL. I'm fairly certain that UHC insurance will cover the TT procedure since my documentation is in good order and it will save them money if the TT is done along with the repair of the hernia . . . I mentioned to my PCP that I would like a PS referral to possibly pursue breast lift and thigh lift, as I'm having ongoing rash problems in these areas as well (also documented in my charts thankfully). I had thought maybe he would be hesitant to refer me for more surgeries, but he took me by surprise and actually is writing a separate letter of medical necessity for me to take to a plastic surgeon. Woooohoooooo!!!! Now the only obstacle which has kept me on the phone ALL AFTERNOON? Finding a plastic surgeon who accepts our state's medical insurance coverage for the breast and thigh work. Every one I've called won't even arrange a consult for me, they refuse to accept state reimbursement rates for plastic surgery. (I'm a stay-at-home mom to a child with autism and we're both eligible for state medical coverage as we are below income guidelines.) Sigh. Just needed to vent. I'm sure where there's a will, there's a way. And I've got plenty of time on my hands to pursue this plastic surgery like a BULLDOG hahahahaha. -BJ 300/165/150???

Karen, thanks for the heads up about bloodwork levels. I must say I have not been as vigilant with my vitamins as I should be lately . . . you've reminded me that my healing process will go much more smoothly if I get back on track. Thanks. -BJ

Topic: RE: got a date for my tummy tuck
Hi Mary, I had my Panni removed (a little more involved than a TT) so I'm not sure if I can give you the information you're wondering about. I had it done in March of 2005. I had 22 pounds removed. I won't lie it did come with pain and it took longer to get over than the RNY did, I had the RNY done Lap. I was cut hip to hip. My tummy was pulled so tight I couldn't stand up stright for almost 2 weeks. Then I still was a little bent if I was up very long. Now, it changed my life! Thank God I had this done I would do it over again in a heart beat!!!!!! I never thought it would do as much as it did for me not only physically but emotionally and mentally. I am so happy, I can look in the mirror and its a whole new experience what I feel. I was looking for pain relife with this surgery and got MUCH MUCH More! Patti, in Michigan
