Just curious -- when you regained, where did the weight get redeposited? I had a TT and then put 20 pounds back on. They went straight to my inner thighs, and the fat-rolls on my back (under my bra-line). UGH. But yes, my tummy is still flat as a board! The rest of me? Jiggly, and I hate the way I look.

I got down to 148 for a split-second about 20-months out of surgery . . . I looked gaunt and my face looked very old. 160 is a better weight for me. I started getting lax about what I was eating and the next thing I knew, I had passed 160 and gotten all the way back up to 180. That's when I put the brakes on, finally. Had something to do with my winter-clothing fitting too tightly, fat-roll hanging down over the waistbands of my jeans, etc.

In mid-September, I started to be more careful about getting protein in, and less carbs, and no grazing between meals. The pounds are slowly coming back off, not as fast as I'd like, but at least the scale isn't going UP! I am now at 173, my goal was to get down to 160's by Halloween, I might just squeeze by, if not I will come close!

Good luck,
BJ

I am experiencing the same thing. I was gaining the weigh back also. I have been stable for the last 6 months. I started out at 320 and was down to 220 and now I am back up to 260. I have gained 40lbs. I am so disappointed in myself. I know it is what I eat. I know that I dont drink enough water. I know that I should not eat sweets. I don't get in enough exercise either. I have joined the gym today and I am going to at least lose the 40lbs back even if I dont make it to my goal. I am going back to proteins only for a while to see if I can lose the weigh.

Has anyone else gained back a lot of weight?

I think you go see a doctor. It could be something that needs medical attention. I had a tummy tuck a few years ago also. I have also gained some weigh but my stomach is still flat. I found a new gym in my area and I am going to try my best to lose the pounds back.

good Morning, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions... I had a tummy tuck about 2 years ago and I just started going back to the gym this week ( after gaining about 30 lbs). Well my tummy has popped out wich looks like I am about 5 mnths pregnant.. now I know that it is normal but was wondering how long does it normally last and what can I do to make it go down...and can I continue doing sit-ups.

Nicole, That is kinda funny about the 2nd bypass, even though i know you are serious. O.K. I started at 305, got down to 205 and on the scale last week i was 250. Not happy. Went to my support group. Felt encouraged. And realized the things that I am NOT doing. I am not getting my water in! I am not getting my exercise! I can eat well all day long but if I am not doing those two things, I am never taking it off. My goals for the next month are to get back to the 64oz of water and the walking every day. Have you thought about those 2 things. I KNOW that is what my problem is. Let me know if you come up with any other tips. I could use them sister!!! Mary Kay Green

I have been in the same boat. I wish I had answers for you. I started at 270, got down to 186 by the end of the first year. I never made it to my goal weight & the scale started to creep back up. By my 3rd anniversary I was at 218. I have pretty much maintained that weight for the last year...going down to 206 at one point with concentrated low carb/high protein...then, it bounced right back up to 224. I've started to cut back (again) and renew my efforts at the gym. Now I'm back to 218. I have to tell you; I feel very discouraged. Sometimes I eat almost nothing & my weight goes up. Then, I'll eat well & go to the gym only to see the numbers go up. It seems like the more I try, the more I gain. And, not trying just means I stay here at an undesirable weight. I wish I had the answers.

Hi June Bugs! Hard to believe it's been four years, huh?!! I am getting so frustrated trying to take 10 pounds back off. I cut way back on calories and started walking again but the scale didn't budge the first week. Then last week I got stranded out of state in a hotel while my car was needing repairs that cost a small fortune -- leaving me with just a couple of dollars per day to eat on. I figure I ate one small meal per day. Did I lose weight? Just two stinking pounds. And I was starving to death. Guess after that rapid weight loss the first year after the surgery, I got myself spoiled into thinking it would always be that easy. It is hot as Hades here in Delaware, but I am going to try and do my walking at twilight now and see if that helps. See y'all lighter LOL!! -BJ 308/148/169/165 preop/lowest/current/goal
