This is a normal feeling... Even though it's not as often for me now, I still sometimes feel I haven't changed a bit... However, a funny thing happens when I do my comparison pictures for motivation (see my profile). I always knew I was pretty big, but somehow it seems I never REALLY saw myself as I was, because when I look at the before photos I can't believe that was really me! Isn't that weird? Anyway, I recommend putting before and after pictures together. At least for me, they give me a good perspective and make me understand ,and feel REALLY good about, how far I've come. I know you say you don't feel you need professional help, and most likely you don't... you could still be adjusting to the new you... who's to say how long it takes? But, definitely keep watching your emotions. If these feelings keep getting worse, then you may very well need to talk to someone to understand where they come from and how you can change them to be what you need to be: HAPPY and loving yourself! (((((((HUG)))))) I was having the same problem. The only thing that sort of helped me was pictures. I took the time to find some pictures taken prior to surgery which wasn't easy as I avoided the camera. Then I had my DH take some during pictures. (Since I am not done losing yet, I hope.) Give it a try, All my best, Kathy If you hit the www under my name it should lead you to my before and during pictures.

It has been 1 year 2 months and 6 days to be exact. Everyone has told me how great I look, but as I look in the mirror I still see myself as I was before my (WLS) Even my husband told me how good I look and all I keep hearing is that I have lost so much weight. My old clothes are too big I have went down a few cup sizes in the bra dept, and I have noticed that I dont have that sagging double or triple CHIN that I once had. So tell me Am I GOING CRAZY OR AM I STUCK IN THE WORLD THAT I WAS BEFORE MY (WLS) I dont feel if though I need professional help, because I was never in denial before my (WLS) And I was overweight and needed to have something done about. I have not been on the scale in a while because I feel that I have not reached my goal. PLEASE GIVE MY SOME ADVICE RIGHT NOW I FEEL LIKE I AM DOWN IN THE DUMPS AND REALLY GETTING BACK TO BEING REALLY DEPRESSED.

Kelly, I started at 305 - got down to 200 and that was it - for months. I hit my one year anniversary (6/28/05) and was still at 200. I haven't been on the scale since then - until last night (8/7/05) - and just like that - I'm at 175.5 lbs!!! Be patient - it will come. Heather
