Hi Barbara, I go to my friends pool and tread water almost every night for about 1 hour. I get out into the deep end and just start kicking and I also swim some back stroke laps. This is low impact and I just love it since I broke my back about 5 years ago. Oh, I only go swimming late in the evening around 8 with my friends or my husband and son. Hope this gives you some good ideas. Dawn

Topic: Can I have a drink?
Hi everyone. I turn the big "40" in a couple of weeks. I think there is a surprise party in the works. Has anyone tried a alcoholic beverage yet? I am thinking that it would be nice to sip on something. I am sure that one drink would be plenty. My surgeon told me that it is really hit or miss on what people tolerate but definately to stay with one drink and don't drive.

I also tire easily. I am dizzy, light headed and sometimes downright faint.. I am sure I am not getting all the protine I need. I can't do the shakes anymore, they trigger my gag reflex right away. I am in the pureed stage but... can you say yuck.. I do eat some soft protiens but... I felt good thru weeks 2-3 but this week... whew, I am glad to just drag myself thru my work day and float around in the pool with the kids.. I know it gets better, just have to try to push more protiens.. Good luck girls, we can do this.. Korianne 305/255/150 -50 lbs

Don't forget the B12 and chewable vitamins, Paper tape and 4x4 gauze pads.. Laxitives and thats all I can think of.. I waited to buy the soft foods for a few weeks because you will probably be on liquids only a few days before and a couple weeks after.. Good luck ... You will do fine Korianne 305 /255 /150

I'm walking 2 miles a day after work at a local mall. I do it 5 times a week & haven't had any problems. I'm using an exercise ball for home exercises to improve my stomach muscles too. Jerry Open RNY revision 6/3/04 355/295/200

Marsha, You are definitely not alone. I have had nausea and dry heaves for 3 weeks now. I ended up dehydrated and was placed back in the hospital for 6 days. I had an endoscopy while there and found to have 3-4 small ulcers in my pouch. I am on meds for the ulcers and we tried everything my surgeon could think of to aleviate the nausea, but nothing completely took it away. I have at home phenergan, compazine, a patch I wear behind my ear, and a couple of other tablets to get rid of the nausea. I'll admit, I am a tad better, but the nausea still lerks in the background. I was also send home on IV tube feedings. My vitamins and antiobiotics are put in this IV. I'm not sure how long this will last. They say until I start eating and drinking on my own. I have been able to eat some now, but the drinking is still very difficult. No girl - you are not alone. There are others out here suffering right along. I do hope you get better soon.

Is it 8 weeks for us ALREADY!? OMG!! Now I'm breaking my arm patting myself on the back. LOL! It seems like just the other day I was stressing wether I was going to die on the table. Like you my twin, I am thrilled that I had WLS and wish all the June Bugs the best of luck. We are all a big bunch of losers. H

Hey BJ, I'm always too self concious to walk outside so I bought a set of the Leslie Sansone walking tapes. I too have those little terrorists who are out of school so we all stand in front of the TV and walk away the pounds. It is GREAT! I got the set at BJ's Wholesale for 15 bucks with the abs belt too. They have a 1 mile tape, two mile one and a 3 mile one. I'm not brave enough to try the 4 mile DVD yet. The one mile one is only 15 minutes and even the 4 mile one is only 45 minutes so these seem to work real well for me. She breaks it down by 1/2 miles and such so you can stop whenever you want. My girls LOVE it! Hope this helps. H
