Hey. I just talked to my friend who is 3 years post op and she said she cannot even eat that much...she said maybe you should check with your doctor and see if something is wrong. Maybe your pouch is too large?? Good luck!

I can relate.....my body hasn't been "NORMAL" since surgery. I feel like I am on a perpetual period....just when I think it's gone.... it comes back....( cramps are terrible too)......Not sure if its the rapid weightloss that is causing it.... or the fluctuation in hormones..... but its really getting to be annoying. That may not answer your question....but I hear Misery loves company. It's nice to know you're not the only one dealing with this. Goodluck! I saw we have the same surgery date! How cool is that????

Topic: 7 weeks out-down 33lbs!
Hi Y'all! I just had my 6 wk checkup last week and I was down a total of 30 lbs at that point and now this week have dropped a few more. I've noticed it mainly in my legs, which I REALLY have to get walking and toning before they look awful! I don't know if that will hel*****t, but I have to try, plus the walking will help my back and to keep on losing. So, far all is well....I still fight to get all of my water in...I don't think I'm doing too bad with my protein cuz that's all I eat. I've not had any pop, noodles, rice or bread since surgery. It's been ALL protein! Anyway, I also need to bump up my calcium intake. Hope all is well with everyone else! Carrie

I cannot believe we are around the same time. I am 8 weeks out and still struggling with getting any food down. I really have to push myself. For breakfast I ate about a half of a protein bar and for lunch I almost finished it. I thought this was like a super sized meal for me right now. I am starting to wonder if I will ever be able to eat much at all. I can't get in near the protein I need and have tried all kinds of protein drinks. Unjury will be my last shot. I am ordering samples tomorrow. I wish I could eat some more. Everyone has different reactions. I will tell you this, you are definately getting more nutrition than me. Make sure you use it to your advantage and get all the important stuff in, especially calcium! Good luck!!! Good job on the 28 lbs!!

I am 7 weeks out and am eating way too much. I can eat two eggs and piece of ham and a packet of oatmeal for breakfast. At about 1:00 I can eat two Taco bell tacos....at about 6:oo I can eat baked fish and half an acorn squash. In between I eat pistacho nuts..about 20 for two snacks. I drink over 64 oz of water/crystal lite..etc. Have had no alcohol but do drink the occasional diet soda. Down 28 pounds and have just joined Curves to help with the plateau.....Here is the kicker.....I DO NOT DUMP !!! I ate an ice cream sandwich by mistake( thought it was one of my sugar free ones) and did not dump.. I can eat half a Scholtskies pastrami and swiss on rye without difficulty... in another setting have half a Pizza Hut personal pizza..and seem to not have trouble with bread at all in any form...albeit I have had little. Is this surgery not working for me ?? I am 50 years old and maybe a very slow loser but I do not seem to feel full as others do here on this site. Any help...and I know I'll get screamed at and deservedly so, will be appreciated. My surgeon only bypasses 10 cm of intestine..is that the problem ???? Regards..Sheryl H

Thanks for the information. It helps so much to hear from another. I never would have thought upping your protein would break a plateau. I can do some meats. But egg**** me pretty hard. May you be blessed with much success in your coming week, Andre'

Topic: periods from he**
I have had my period twice this month and with the second one I have had cramps from he**! What is going on? I went and bought some Midol (?) the one with the Tylenol product not the aspirin. I cracked them in half and then took them I was really afraid since I haven't taken any pills since my surgery but they haven't given me any problems so far and the cramps are gone. Will these painful periods continue???? Has any one else had problems? Please let me know what I should do.

I think you are on track too, from what I'm finding anyway. I'm down 46 lbs, and it seemed really slow to me, because I kept meeting people who were losing 20 lbs a month.....and I felt like such a failure.....but the more I research this, and the more I understand this, our goal is an AVERAGE of 10 lbs a month......so you are ahead of the game..... I hit plateaus very frequently, and that really upsets me. I find that if I up my protien shakes I can usually break past the plateau, but then I will slip back into my low protien pattern......so I am still making new habits. I'm a carb addict and I have to really control how much I eat or I totally quit losing. Food I find easy to eat are soups, veggies, some fruit, rye crisp, wheat thins, smoked salmon, canned oysters, tuna, egg salad. I can't hardly do meat of any kind. It just makes my pouch so uncomfortable within 2 bites and my meal is over. Best to you! Tracey

I had my 2 month check up too and was down 62 pounds. I wanted more and I guess I took a step back and gave myself a pat because I would never have done it without the surgery and guess i am trying to keep focused on my goal and not be too hard on myself.keep your spirits up
