Im out just a few days over two months and just half of my goal of 100 lbs. I've lost 50 so far. I now weigh less then I did when I delivered my first child, haven't been there in years...i'm so happy I did it.

Hi Jj, I just went for my 3 mos. post-op lab. work and I have a deficiency of Potassium and Magnesium.. The Dr. ordered some pills for me. I take (2) Flintstones vitamins daily, anyway.. One in the AM and one in the PM. Then at night I take the Pot. and the Mag. pills with my nitely pills. I also take sublingual (under the tongue) B vitamins.. It doesn't taste bad at all.. I take that 3 times a week. I was told it is common to have to have your vitamins re-adjusted from time to time.. I was also told we have to take these vitamins for the rest of our lives, so it's important to get our lab. work from time to time, also.. I hope this has been a help to you.. Joanne

I had problems at first with vitamins and a fellow wls patient suggested that I do what she does. Get a pill crusher (walmart about 5 bucks) and crush the flinstone chewables into powder. Swallow with some water. I also found some chewable calcium citrate at bariatricadvantage.com. The mint flavor is good and keeps your breath nice and fresh. If you aren't eating well, try try try these methods to at least get your vitamins in.

You are doing great! congratulations!! I have been walking 2 miles everyday and I have only lost 30 from sugery day. I am a little disgusted. I have been seeing people lose that the first month. I know I should compare but it just makes me sad.

I had my surgery done on June 21st. Today the scale says...65 lbs. I am so excited and happy. Although I had a problem at work that upset me alot... This news helped with that situation. Walking has helped me alot. My sleep apnea is only going to improve....YEAH! Debbie

Why Why Why are you eating some of those foods? I had my surgery on 06/09/04 and have lost 59 LBS I eat 3 times a day 2-4 oz depends on what I eat but it is low fat and nooooooooooooo sugar at all. A big trick is eating slow. Heck Sometimes my stomach gets a little crampy still. How much intestine that was bypassed does not have anything to do with how much food you are consuming I understand some surgeons make the pouches diff sizes, which may be the case for you however putting stuff like Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut in it will not help you. Don't get me wrong, because I did not have this surgery to count fat and calories for the rest of my life, I am trying different foods sometimes not the best ones either but its in very small moderation, stay away from sodas even if they are diet, the bubbles are not good for your stomach either, as far as alcohol... you may not want to mess with that eitherusually contains a lot of sugar good luck to you*Kristi
