Patti, Welcome to the board! Gosh 80 pounds is a great achievement in 12 weeks. You must feel really good about this accomplishment. You are only 20 lbs away from the Century Club. I can't wait to get there. Pool exercise sounds like fun. I need to get regular with exercise. I have not gone near sugar yet....I don't want to know I can eat it. Hopefully after more weight comes off walking gets easier for you. I had surgery on 21 June and I am 336 lbs today. I started at 411lb right before surgery. The heaviest was in January 2004 when I weighed 425 lbs. I felt bad then. Good luck with your journey. Debbie

This is a great idea....Turkey Day goal....hmmmmm... I think my goal for then is to be exercising 3x a week and to be below 300 lbs. I don't think that is asking too much Debbie 411/170/336

BC/BS knows how much the surgery is. They just never miss the opportunity to jerk someone around. I had to bite someone's head off because they told me a Urinary Tract Infection was a "preexisting illness". Just get mean and they will plant both lips firmly on your a$$. Hang in there H

Barb, What a great idea! I've been being a slug lately. I fell down the stairs and used that as an excuse to quite excersising. I will however use this idea to jumpstart myself. H June 11, 04-216/Today-162/Turkey Day? 130/110=GOAL!

Topic: RE: You Know You Are A WLS Patient When...
I have read where some are so large it's difficult to wipe their bums...and they use the spoon to help wipe after they've had surgery.... I just made my hubby help me....and he was very nice about it....but I seriously couldn't reach there for the incision pain those first 3 days..... So I THINK that's what it's referring to.....but I can be corrected if I'm wrong...

Patti!! Wow!! I know I can't beleive how different I am now!! More self confident, and I feel "normal"!! I went sliding at the park yesterday with my grand daughter!! and ran and Laughed with her!!I find myself some times getting scared that the weight will come back! Lord help me!! Compliments are nice, but knowing there is weight loss there is better!! I looked at a 5 sugar bags the other day; and thought "that is what I had to carry extra in life!" There is no way I could lift 50# of sugar and carry it all at one time!! I sure wish that I would loose faster too.... I still look best in 2xl & can fit into all my old pants. They are baggy around the legs, but my belly is still fluff!! Phylli 292/240 RNY 6-9-04

Topic: RE: Stopped losing!!!!!!
Hi!! I had my surgery 6-9-04; and am down 50#. The way I have been loosing is I stay the same, stay the same, and then after a week or so.. the scale goes down 3 or 4# all at once!! At first I worried, but now I decided my body is fighting back... and hangs on to those fat cells!!! I have a heel of a foot that gives me fits...as well as a knee that fights me too! I was walking 3 miles a day... but now I have returned to work; and I am on my feet at work; so I joined a health club. I excercise 3 times a week with weights and find that riding a stationery bike builds up my knees, as do the weights, I think!! Anyway, the knee feels great now, but the heel is still fighting back!! Anyway!! Isn't it a wonderful thing?? To have had this surgery?? Phylli RNY 6-09-04 292/240
