Topic: RE: IT's Sept! JuneBugs-- How R U Doin?
Hi,
I had my RNY proximal on June 8, 2004. I am down to 248# from 287#. A total of 39# and 26 inches...
I just saw my PCP and he stopped my blood pressure medications and potassium. He is pleased with the rate of my wt loss, although I'm a little impatient.
I have a 2 year old son and he is providing me with my exercise, obviously not enough at this point but there aren't enough hours in the day....
I am taking approximately 60 ounces of fluid each day.

This is great.

protein 60
Liquid including water, ice tea diet, coffee 54 oz
I love the term scale ***** I never own a scale until now.
Concerns for the coming months
Sometimes I need something sweet. But no far I have only eaten a small amount of peanut butter.
Good luck everyone for next month.

My surgery date was June 21, 2004 and as of today, I lost 49 pounds. I haven't had the hair loss yet, but who knows? I sometimes experience vomiting when I maybe eat too much and/or too fast. This is truly the best thing I've done for myself.

Trust me it is noticable to people when u lose weight. As for me, my I now have a neck and i dont look like a bull dog... I come to work and my pants are so baggy that they hang in the front.. But i m not going to buy clothes till they will not stay on me at all.. that is just to much.. I will probably go to a clothes exchange through the hospital where i had my surgery, or have my clothers altered...

Are you taking biotin? If not start now and you will get new hair growth.

It's been 3 months tomorrow and I'm down 46 pounds.
I feel great except that I get a muscle spasm in my back when I walk and I walk about a mile per day.
I prefer Fruit2O as my beverage of choice and I drink about 32 oz. per day. I'm also attempting to increase my regular water intake as well because it appears that when I do, I lose more that week.
I'm not sure the exact amount of protein, but I sure think it's enough. I'm going to do some checking at GNC or somewhere to find an easy solution to adding more protein (and liking it). Any suggestions?
I still have to remind myself to eat slow and chew, chew, chew. I find I have the best luck at breakfast and lunch. I've only gotten sick after dinner and I believe it's because I'm eating too fast and not concentrating.
My biggest hurdle is my hair loss!! I was using Nioxin shampoo, but when the bottle was empty, I didn't get more. Is it worth it or just a gimic?
I am so HAPPY I did this and would do it all over again!!

Topic: Hair Loss
I thought I was going to make it through without having any hair loss, but it's starting to happen. I feel I'm eating enough protein, so I'm concerned as to how long this is going to happen before it quits!! HELP!!
