Just look at all the people on this sight that have had the surgery and are alive and very happy to talk about it. I know I was very nervous before the surgery as I'm sure everyone is. If there's a support group in your area look at those people too. I cried on and off for days prior to the surgery and my doctor told me the emotional roller coaster was perfectly normal. I had a lap RNY on June 14th, had no problems......I feel great! I was walking on a treadmill 2 days after I got out of the hospital and haven't stopped yet. Lost 55 pounds in 11 weeks, I can eat anything so I eat what I like, but of course I make good choices and eat my protein first. This was the best thing I did for myself!!! And soon you'll be saying the same thing! Good luck and may God guide your surgeon's hands during your procedure. You'll be fine. See you on the losing side! Terry

Had a lap RNY on June 14th Starting weight 276 after surgery, down 55 pounds so far. I walk at least 4 miles 5 days a week on a treadmill at the gym, some days I do 5 to 6 miles. Also work out with weights and play raquetball on weekends. Started in a tight size 28 jeans, now wearing a size 18. Size L to XL tops, but I carry the weight in the legs and hips. I can eat anything (haven't tried sweets yet) and have not dumped. No hair loss either. I feel wonderful......lots of energy. Cravings for sweets are gone. I crave meat now when I'm eating something artificially sweetened like a protein bar. Breads are too filling so I stay away from them. I pretty much live on meat and dairy with some veggies and fruit thrown in for variety. I eat what I like so I thoroughly enjoy my food. Good luck to all! Will update next month!

Patti. I am so glad I read your post this morning. You and I started about the same weight and it's nice to see I am on track with you. I have lost 80lbs so far and am still struggling with meat and bread too. I just had a QSmart bar last night for the first time and liked it. The Carbwell bars are good but a little too sweet for me, I can only eat 1/2 of a bar at one time. I dont dump on sweets either but they dont taste as good to me as they did before surgery. I am dying for chicken these days, I would love to be able to eat a peice of chicken breast again. Although bread it's my friend these days, I do OK with tortilla wraps as long as they arent too doughy. Keep up the great job Amy

Korianne, Did I read correctly? "Size 26-28 to a size 20 which is a little disapointing"??!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! That's the EXACT same number of sizes I lost and you were praising me! I just went from 22/20 to 12. Think about it and you LOST several pounds more than I did! Quit Being so hard on Korianne! CONGRATULATIONS! You are doing GREAT! Hannah

Korianne, I love to watch trash on TV, you know the stuff, any You are not the baby daddy show works for me. We made a new rule. When you watch trash, you must go on the excersise bike, or treadmill for the entire program. Soooo, basically I am walking/running my butt off. LOL! The more I excersise, the more water I consume and I guess that's really good for us. As of today, I am offically in a size 10. My kids made fun of my size 12 pants bagging in the butt. You should read my profile. It has been a wild ride so far and I can't wait until I can fit my size 3/4 outfits. Suddenly thanks to this surgery, it seems possible. Dr. Chebli is AWESOME! Hannah

Hi. I really like this June group, it helps me feel like I am right on target. Thank you everyone. My surgery was on 6/17. Starting weight at 250, now am 203 so a 47 pound loss. I had horrible complications the first 1 1/2 months but I am doing very well now. This surgery is tough for type 1 diabetics I have learned. I do a three mile walking tape daily (well, most days.) Good luck to everyone, stay well, eat sensibly, and good luck to all !!!!!!!!!

Hello Junebugs! I'm down about 50 lbs! I try to get my walking but, I must admit I've been slacking lately, but, I will get back on track! I try to get my water intake in. It seems thats all I do is eat and drink protein, wise I eat my yogurts, my cheese, and my meats first before anything else. so I guess I'm doing o.k. with that I also make sure I take my vitamins everyday!! what I've learned since wls??? I learned just how out of shape I really was!! I can't believe the energy I have to do things that I would have never been able to do without the surgery.. simply things like WALKING!!! AND the biggest HURDLES????? getting used to such smaller amounts! sometimes still my eyes are way bigger than my stomach!! wtg everyone on your weightloss ~Mary

Topic: RE: Set your Turkey Day mini-goal here and now!!!
Okay, I'm shooting for -30# by Thanksgiving, which would mean a 75 # total loss. Plus, I am adding a goal of 60 oz. water a day.
