Perhaps you could try increasing your carb intake and see if that slows down your weight loss. Mostly I hear the opposite, people are concerned that they are losing too slow. Make sure you take your supplements and take care.

My Doctor told me that I need to up my protein and that zinc would help with the hair loss. Seems to be working. Also I'm not as tired as I was before I got my portein back on track. I had my surgery June 7, 2004 and have lost 60lbs, I started at 250. God, I'm so happy. And the inches, I wish I had kept track because I have gone from a 3X to a 16w. :- D

Hi all I had my surgery 14 weeks ago today and am down 133 lbs. I saw my endocrinologist today and she is thinking this is awful fast especially since I am down 16 lbs just this week and that is while on steroids for lung prob. Anyone else out there having concerns about losing so much so fast. Not that I mind losing it but am having some electrolyte problems. To all those who are June surgeries i hope all is well.

Oye mine JUST started falling out this week. I knew it could happen but it still freaked me out. I'm trying to be very careful about getting all my protein and vits in. Does anyone know if you can stop it once it starts? Tasha 303.5/223.5/138

The info came from Barix treatment centers literature. These are the parameters listed: 6 weeks = average 20% (range 10-30%) 3 months = average 33% (range 15-51%) 12 months = average 67% (range 36-99%) Monthly predictions weren't listed. I hope that helps, Regina

Topic: 12-week weigh-in and a minor rant . . .
Hi everyone, Well . . . I traveled one hour in rush hour traffic for my 3-month checkup with surgeon yesterday evening, anticipating questioning him about my lack of restriction and my suspicions about an enlarged stoma. Got to the office to find the door locked, and the phone disconnected. What the heck??!! I used my cellphone to try his other office which is even further downtown (D.C.), thinking I had mixed up my dates or something. After 25 rings, one of the office staff answered, saying that the office I was at was permanently closed. Well it would have been friggin' nice of someone to give me a call, ya think? She said I wasn't on their schedule in the D.C. office for yesterday, either. Now I know I wrote this down correctly in my appointment book when we made the original date. Grrrrrr. So I couldn't be seen there, either . . . but I did get scheduled for next Wednesday. Good thing, apparently, because then she informed me that as of October 1, my surgeon was leaving the practice and she did not have any info as to where his new offices would be located or what the phone numbers would be, etc. So now I am very uneasy. I hope I get some answers next week. I feel like presenting them with a bill for my babysitting costs, my gasoline costs, and just plain wasting-my-time costs, lol. This morning, I had an appointment with my regular doctor who oversees my meds for fibromyalgia and back pain (I have degenerative disk disease in my lower back). According to his scale, my 12-week loss comes to 240!!!! Woohoooo!!! I told him that I had some relief from the back pain right after surgery, but recently have been noticing more discomfort. He says that the weight loss has caused my center of gravity to be redistributed and I need to work on exercising certain other muscles in my back to strengthen my posture. He gave me a referral to a physical therapist! So that's the news from my little corner of the world. -BJ 300/240/150???

Topic: 57lbs gone for good
Well I am out 3 months as of tommorow and I am down 57lbs from surgery. I have lost 72lbs from my highest weight of 370#s I am feeling so great! I am having some of the same kinds of problems that others have complained of, like dry skin and hair loss but nothing negitive that compairs with the possitive of having lost weight and knowing that it is gone for good. Good luck to everyone on the June board!!!!!!
